NFL Rumors / Signings / Cuts / Trades (Non-Jets)

Recommended Posts

The Jets are supposedly one of several teams after Raiders fourth Wr Andre Holmes.      Very good special teamer , but very limited Wr with questionable hands.

I came across this from Dec 2016.

•  Speaking of the Raiders, they’ve got a little spending to do over the next few months. The CBA set cash-spending floors for teams over two four-year periods—2013-16 and 2017-20. Over each of those, every club must spend to 89 percent of the cap in cash. And with the end of the first period upon us (to clarify from the earlier edition of the story, they have until the end of the league year in March) , the NFLPA will release figures this week that show the Raiders are the only team that hasn’t yet reached the threshold, according to a union source. Oakland is close and may be able to get there naturally as players hit incentives over the coming weeks, and have players like Derek Carr and Khalil Mack that would be worth extending and will be eligible for new deals as soon as the season ends. Also, the requirement that the league-wide spend exceed 95 percent of the cap over that four-year period has already been met. All of this means each team spent in excess of a half-billion dollars on players between 2013 and ’16, and players have taken home a total of around $17 billion total in cash over that time.

The Raiders hit the cap limit when their players were selected to the probowl( got their bonuses).    Raiders have the nineth most cap space but shouldn't be big players in Fa .( should be hearing Derek Carr extension real soon.( which will take a large chunk of their cap space.

He had 4 receptions for 50 yards.......in a game where they were down 20 in the 4th quarter.

Why?    Connor Cook as the third qb( was more familiar throwing to the Raiders fourth Wr ( Andre Holmes) than throwing to A Cooper, Crabtree, and Seth Roberts.( never got any reps with any of those guys all season).

Yea, but if I remember correctly, he was the only receiver that was catching the football all game .Crabtree and the kid from Bama had the dropsies  all game . I would take him on the cheap

Andre Holmes is bigtime special teamer.   Rather limited as Wr, as the nine route his best route.( likes to use his size- put a big CB on him and he's done).

It's amazing to me that the Oakland Raiders were able to rebuild properly and the Jets are not being allowed to by everybody. Instead we have people openly wishing for people to lose their jobs and media members goading fans into reacting to rumors.

Almost every Raider fan and their beat writers were calling for Reggie Mckenize to be fired at some point.     Made some very questionable decisions at Qb( trading Carson Palmer- more a salary dump , Matt Flynn, Matt Leinart , Matt Schaub ) .

Reggie Mckenize made some free agent mistakes but always gave himself and out without taking a cap hit.( easy to get rid of players who didn't work out.

Mark Davis deserves a lot of the credit for having the patience and confidence in Reggie Mckenize to eventually turn it around.    It would have been so easy to give in to the pressure from the fans and the media.

Adrian Peterson to Washington

Adrian Peterson has found a new NFL team.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the 32-year-old free agent running back has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins on a contract. He has spent his entire nine year career with the Minnesota Vikings since entering the league as a first round pick in 2007.

Peterson was league MVP in 2012.  He is the latest addition to the running back corps this offseason after losing Matt Jones to fumblitis. Peterson and Robert Kelley, along with Mack Brown, will likely fill out the depth chart at the position now.

April fools.

First, I thought you couldn't trade comp picks. Second, the Jets could potentially get a 3rd round comp pick for SR leaving as a FA (I honestly don't think he will net us the max pick when all is said and done, but its possible). So why would we trade an asset for a move up in the same round when we could get a year if play and just about the same compensation a year later.

First year you are allowed to trade compensation picks.

The Jets will have a lot of money to play with in Fa in 2018.  If they are big players in Fa, than there is good chance they won't get anything if Sheldon Richardson signs elsewhere.   If the Jets don't sign anyone than you probably get a third rounder in 2019.

Beastmode to be a Raider.   ( PR move as you bring the  local legend home, as you transition from Oakland to Las Vegas.

figured this would happen. So are the Raiduhs giving Seattle a draft pick or will Seattle just let him go?

That hasn't been determined yet.  He's meeting with Jack Delrio now.  If Jack Delrio signs off on Lynch -  the dominos will fall.( according to Rapoport sp? )

I have become more disinterested in the NFL..from our team sucking, Goodel , PSLs,  Pats cheat, team fighting, calls of racism by players....  I could go on.

Nothing a franchise Qb doesn't change your outlook on everything.   Guarantee all those things suddenly don't bother you as much.   Hang in there.

The Raiders might be cutting Sebastian Janikowski.   The Raiders want him to take a pay cut, and he's refusing to .    His salary guarantee fully by tomorrow  if he's still on the roster.  So something probably  happens tonight.
