If I understand correctly, we are on the hook for the first $6 million of any salary he receives. If so, someone will certainly give him a new jersey to wear on Sundays.

Not exactly, whatever he gets from another team is subtracted (offset) from the 6mill the jets owe him. So unless he gets paid more than 6mill by another team    he would make the same money whether he sits at home or plays. He might retire.

Fitz is Cutler lite.  Look at how he acted against the organization when he felt insulted they wanted to bench him after leading the nfl in INTs the first several weeks.  I do not want Fitz back, didn't want him back last year.  I'd rather Sanchez back on a 1 year deal then go back to Fitz, even if he wasn't even starting.

Agreed, I don't want fitz on this team in any capacity whatsoever.

I think giving up a draft pick for Trevor Simian would be bad.

Agree, but giving up Sheldon AND getting  a pick back would work for me (at least 3rd or 4th rounder)

Corey graham cut by bills. I recall jets having interest in him past. Maybe cheap vet for depth/experience in the secondary??

Minter and tj Macdonald still out there. Could be decent signings to shore up lb and secondary.

Why work out Ridley? He sucked 2yrs ago. Unless he has been taking near lethal doses of hgh and steroids there is no way he has gotten better in the last 2yrs.

Bears released WR Victor Cruz.

It speaks volumes that Cruz couldn't even make the Bears' roster after Cameron Meredith went down with a season-ending ACL tear. The 30-year-old salsa enthusiast finally stayed healthy last season, but managed just 586 receiving yards and went his last 14 games without scoring a touchdown. Cruz's career is hanging by a thread.

If giants cut either Matt Lacosse, will tye, or Travis Rudolph would jump on that. They would all be upgrades. Would also look for OL.
