#Jets interested in re-signing LT Ben Ijalana, but there will be a market for him. Versatility (can play LT and RT) is attractive.

huh? Is this true? Why franchise a zone type corner? guess just to use as an asset

Makes sense given that CB Trumaine Johnson doesn't really fit in the scheme DC Wade Phillips runs. Johnson lacks strong man-to-man skills

makes sense..browns have the picks and cap room

Rams open to trading CB Trumaine Johnson

The Rams and Johnson -- set to make $16.7 million under the tender -- have until July 15 to strike a multi-year deal, but a trade has always felt possible for the 27-year-old defender.

"So much of what the Rams are doing is about building and they would be able to get a significant draft-pick haul for one of the top corners in the game," Rapoport told NFL Network. "Right now they are weighing their options, trying to see what is out there for Trumaine Johnson and for the Rams."

Parting ways with Johnson could serve as the answer to a suddenly expensive relationship that feels bound to end after next season. Especially after general manager Les Snead acknowledged publicly last week that the Rams still need to find out if Johnson "fit" in the system of new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

With former Rams play-caller Gregg Williams now in Cleveland, the Browns are a logical candidate to explore a swap for Johnson. A team like the Titans -- maybe even the Jaguars -- would also make sense. With good cornerbacks so hard to find, the list could be a long one.

It's a nice position for the rebuilding Rams to find themselves in.

SRich? Get our 4th Rd pick back and conditional 2018 pick based on his '17 performance and if he resigns w/Wash?

Washington shopping for help on the D-line

The Redskins are in the market for defensive linemen. The Redskins have also expressed interest in defensive tackle Lawrence Guy, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The 26-year-old spent the last three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He recorded 28 combined tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in 16 games (10 starts) in 2016. NFL.com listed him as the eighth best interior pass rusher last year, averaging 4.24 yards to the quarterback.

Listed at 6-4, 305 pounds, Guy had his best season in 2015 when he recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks in 16 games (six starts). Washington’s interest in Guy falls in line with the team’s approach to seek out second-tier players at the start of free agency for the second straight offseason. The team is also reportedly interested in Cowboys free agenct Terrell McClain.

Master Tesfatsion @MasterTes  Washington Post Redskins beat writer

While I personally believe there's logic behind the #Redskins trading Kirk Cousins, that "report" ain't true as of this morning

Not sure how it picked up steam, but a source said there's no truth to a Kirk Cousins-49ers trade being "all but done."

One thought and I could be wrong. I don't recall rumors of the players the Jets were interested in & signed being leaked w/this regime.

Didn't the Forte, McLendon, Jenkins signings come out of nowhere?  Obviously, some if not most of the rumors coming out now, are via agents to get their clients name out there to garner interest/leverage..

They drafted an ILB and an OLB. They need another OLB.

They could move Jenkins inside. Jenkins reminds me of Mo Lewis, who played inside & outside

Why would they do that?  Then they would probably need to fill both OLB slots.

That's IF they sign Perry...They still have Mauldin

......JOHNNY "MAC" LYNCH???

Per CBA, they may have to spend $$ to get to the salary floor. They had a ton of cap space.

Someone better versed on the CBA can chime in.

From a rumor I heard a couple days ago, the top end of the FA CB market are overestimating their worth and the CB market might actually take a couple days to settle money wise.

With such a deep DB draft...

Ironically mentioning Macc would make sense considering, IIRC, that's exactly why we spent what we spent in 2015.

I came across this from Dec 2016.

•  Speaking of the Raiders, they’ve got a little spending to do over the next few months. The CBA set cash-spending floors for teams over two four-year periods—2013-16 and 2017-20. Over each of those, every club must spend to 89 percent of the cap in cash. And with the end of the first period upon us (to clarify from the earlier edition of the story, they have until the end of the league year in March) , the NFLPA will release figures this week that show the Raiders are the only team that hasn’t yet reached the threshold, according to a union source. Oakland is close and may be able to get there naturally as players hit incentives over the coming weeks, and have players like Derek Carr and Khalil Mack that would be worth extending and will be eligible for new deals as soon as the season ends. Also, the requirement that the league-wide spend exceed 95 percent of the cap over that four-year period has already been met. All of this means each team spent in excess of a half-billion dollars on players between 2013 and ’16, and players have taken home a total of around $17 billion total in cash over that time.

I still say, and I could be wrong, were there any leaks last 2 years about any FA signings i.e. Skrine, Gilchrist, Forte, McLendon etc..?  Revis was always rumored...
