Danny Woodhead signed before Adrian Peterson.

Must be a better player.

Peter Schrager‏ @PSchrags

Free Agent TE Mychal Rivera, most recently of the Raiders, will be taking a visit with the Jets on Monday. @gmfb @NFLonFOX

The Jets have a visit scheduled Monday with free-agent TE Mychal Rivera, a source confirmed. Rivera is a former sixth-round pick who spent his first four seasons with the Raiders. He has 146 career receptions, 1,413 yards and 10 touchdowns. His numbers were down last year, but he caught 58 passes in 2014. He's a receiving tight end, and that's what the Jets need.

I agree, in one of my early off season fa threads I had him going to the Jets.   Would be a decent pick up and probably cheap as well.

And the dumbest trade idea of the year goes to....

If I'm the Jets I call the Seahawks right now and offer them the #6 overall pick for Richard Sherman. And I wouldn't think twice about it.

who the h*ll is Jason Smith? My mailman knows more about the draft than he does

Following up : offered Hightower 5 yrs/$55M, per source. Max value was $62.5M. Yes, team had concerns after physical

We all know the 5 yrs & the $$s stated, $55m / $62M, is worthless. The guaranteed $$ offered is all that matters

Albert Breer‏ @AlbertBreer

Jets offer was pulled after physical, so this was a moot point by the time Hightower accepted Pats' offer.

Unfortunately too many "fans" think like this.  With the secondary depth of this draft this would be beyond stupid.

Tannenbaum would pull something like this

Did we let him keep the cupcakes?

Why does it bother you? Nobody is asking you to watch...

FWIW, BTW, the comparison is Danny Woodhead to Adrian Peterson. and it's an analogy: showing that correlation does not prove causation.

Bother me? Not at all, I absolutely love how so many of our fan base think Geno is this great untapped talent, who is a sure fire franchise QB, just needs a fair chance with weapinzzzzzzz

Giants expected to sign former Jets QB Geno Smith, per and me. Smith and Brandon Marshall teammates again.

Wait a minute, so the Giants signed 2 backup QBs?

Maybe they are releasing Eli after all for Geno. Good move by the Giants.

Why would you pay for 2 backup QBs? Why not just draft a 3rd QB?

They probably will, and release the loser of the backup QB competition.

Because 1 may not be ready for the start of OTAs  .

Ian Rapoport‏ @RapSheet 4m4 minutes ago

Speaking of QBs… FA QB Josh McCown is on his way to #Jets, source said. He’s visiting with them today & tomorrow. Also has #Cowboys interest

Kimberley A. Martin

Confirmed Josh McCown is visiting the #Jets this weekend, as @RapSheet said. Interesting nugget: I'm told he's bringing his wife too

So, backup on a potential Super Bowl team, or potentially start for a team vying for the #1 pick in the draft.

Don't really care. If you want the Job  here, earn it or bye bye  .   I keep Hack and show Petty the door .

This guy is a better QB than Ryan Fitzpatrick and a better athlete . He just doesn't play safe football, and is always getting hurt . He's got a better arm, and he's a really nice fit as a mentor .

He's 38 years old. If his choices are starting for the Jets -the thing that basically ended Ryan Fitzpatrick's career- or never playing a down for the Cowboys for a couple years, I'd think he'd jump at the Cowboys.

He hasn't much NFL time left.  He'll go where there is more money offered.  Last hurrah.
