AFJF
http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2017/03/nfl_free_agency_2017_best_players_available_at_eve.html Quarterbacks 1. Jay Cutler, Bears 2. Colin Kaepernick, 49ers 3. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets Also: Geno Smith (Jets), Mark Sanchez (Cowboys) Tony Romo is expected to be released or traded by the Cowboys, but that still hasn't happened. Romo will become the prize of a sorry quarterback market. Running backs 1. Adrian Peterson, Vikings 2. Eddie Lacy, Packers 3. Latavius Murray, Raiders Also: Jamaal Charles, LeGarrette Blount, Rex Burkhead Not surprisingly, the market was slow to develop for the veteran running backs. Peterson, Lacy and Murray have suitors, but no signings are imminent. Wide receivers 1. Cordarrelle Patterson, Vikings 2. Kamar Aiken, Ravens 3. Michael Floyd, Patriots Also: Kendall Wright (Titans) The wide receiver market dried up fast with many players inking deals as soon as free agency opened. Based on some of the contracts for the top receivers, it doesn't seem like there will be much money invested in this crop of players. Tight ends 1. Jared Cook, Packers 2. Luke Wilson, Seahawks 3. Jacob Tamme, Falcons The top tight end on the market, Martellus Bennett, took Cook's spot with the Packers on Friday. That leaves Cook as the best tight end option on the market. Offensive tackles 1. Ryan Clady, Jets 2. Austin Pasztor, Browns 3. Sebastian Vollmer, Patriots The tackle market already was thin. With even mediocre tackles cashing in, there's not much left for bargain shoppers. Guards 1. T.J. Lang, Packers 2. Jahri Evans, Saints 3. D.J. Fluker, Chargers Also: Mike Harris (Vikings) Like the tackles, the guard market exploded early in free agency. That leaves Lang and little else for teams that missed out on the first wave. Centers 1. Nick Mangold, Jets 2. Joe Hawley, Buccaneers 3. John Sullivan, Redskins Center is one of the few positions that didn't rake in big bucks at the start of free agency. There are some serviceable optio Defensive ends 1. Connor Barwin, Eagles 2. Jared Odrick, Jaguars 3. Chris Long, Patriots Elite pass rushers rarely reach the market and they're snatched up quickly when they do. This group represents the next tier of edge rushers. Defensive tackles 1. Johnathan Hankins, Giants 2. Dontari Poe, Chiefs 3. Bennie Logan, Eagles Also: Sen'Derrick Marks (Jaguars) The defensive tackle has been slow to develop aside from Brandon Williams' monster five-year, $54 million deal with the Ravens. Even with Williams off the market, defensive tackle has more top-tier players than any other position after the first two days of free agency. Outside linebackers 1. Elvis Dumervil, Ravens 2. DeMarcus Ware, Broncos 3. Jarvis Jones, Steelers Also: DeAndre Levy (Lions), Datone Jones (Packers), Alex Okafor (Cardinals) Like defensive end, most of the top options at outside linebacker are already signed. Inside linebackers 1. Dont’a Hightower, Patriots 2. Zach Brown, Bills 3. Gerald Hodges (49ers) Also: Kevin Minter (Cardinals) Hightower may be the best player available at any position. Hodges and Brown are also solid options on the market. Cornerbacks 1. Morris Claiborne, Cowboys 2. Brandon Carr, Cowboys 3. Brandon Flowers, Chargers Also: Darrelle Revis (Jets), Sam Shields (Packers) Most of the big-name corners went off the board in the first two days of free agency. Safeties 1. T.J. McDonald, Rams 2. Bradley McDougald, Buccaneers 3. Jarius Byrd, Saints The safety market is pretty thin after the top options quickly signed early in free agency. Kickers 1. Nick Folk, Jets 2. Dan Carpenter, Bills 3. Greg Zuerlein, Rams There are plenty of serviceable veteran kickers on the market. Teams likely won't move as quickly at this position as they fill other needs first. KRL
I have a feeling we may be waiting for Osweiler to be cut in CLE. Not great (but what QB on the market is) but he's still young and we could get him cheap since he already has $16 million in his pocket this year
JetFaninMI
Not saying to sign him but I would keep an eye on Hightower as long as he's a FA. I would like to see if he want's to go against the Pats twice a year.
Jetster
That list sucks. Other than Hightower there is nothing on that list for a rebuilding team like the Jets. Maybe Minter & Claiborne at the right price. Let's roll with what we have & dive into this next draft. No wonder signing have come to a screeching halt, most teams will just sit back now & watch the prices come down for most of this group left. I have to say I am so unimpressed with QB whisperer down there in Houston (Obrien). WTF were they thinking signing Osweiller for all that money, any lay person could tell you it was ridiculous. His decisions with QBs gives me hope that him passing on Hackenberg might bode well for us. I'll say this about the Jets, I believe right now we have a better Oline than the Texans, a better group of WRs other than Hopkins, who is kinda of a one trick pony though (you saw how easy Patricia took him out of the game), better RBs in Forte & Powell, and if we end of with OJ Howard a better TE. Not farfetched to see Osweller behind center for the NY Jets in 2017. Interesting.
BCJet
Zach Brown would be an excellent signing if we moved on from Harris. Hes younger, faster and better in coverage. He also was miscast in Tennessee as a 4-3 MLB and played much better as an ILB in Buffalo's 3-4 last year. I also wouldnt mind taking a shot on morris clairborne
maury77
Clairborne is an interesting guy. He is a former top 10 pick that royally sucked his first couple of years in the league, then the light went on last year. He has very good physical tools. Scott Dierking
Boy, look at all the "best" available players that were Jets. That team must have been awesome last year. What a fall that team is headed for.

rangerous
but isn't this the way with free agents every year? teams that can keep their players do and release the ones who either can't perform to high standards or think they are worth way more than the teams are willing to give. when you see two jet qb's on the list it makes you wonder how they even managed 5 wins. as for what the jets can or will do, they can get some decent defensive players like minter if they are willing to pay the price. hightower is going to be very pricey. we'll see what happens. Jetster
It's hilarious that 3 ex jet QBs are out there at the same time, lol. I mean seriously, Belichick having Brady in this division is pretty much the most lopsided advantage in all of football. Our expectations of our coaches to overcome this type of advantage is pretty laughable. Makes that 2010 playoff win in Gillette even more impressive. Snell41
Funny I keep seeing this listed as a "weak" FA class at QB. This is one of the best and deepest FA QB classes in history. Yes they all suck balls don't get me wrong, and I sure as sh*t don't want any of them, but good QB's never hit the FA market. This one has multiple former starters and high draft picks.
