Jets moved from Ny to Nj.  What should they be called Jersey garbage disposals

I would have went with New Jersey Jackoffs myself. But the move from NY to NJ is closer to moving from LA to Oakland than moving from California to Las Vegas.  Metro Ny and Nj is practically the same state from a logistics standpoint.

Vegas had actually been struggling a bit overall in recent years.  A move like this will rejuvenate the city.

Depends on which casinos. Some lose or lost so much they really brought down the aggregate (recession from years ago notwithstanding). I think even with those select lead weights on aggregate net, on balance they were profitable last year. Doesn't mean they all were.

No doubt this will increase gambling, which had been growing less than resort revenue from the shows, rooms, bars/restaurants, etc.

Even still, just because they were operating in the red for a while doesn't mean it was therefore sucky to be a casino owner. You can't operate in the red for that many consecutive years; they can.

It doesn't matter how close the move is.   The Jets and Giants moved from NY to NJ. ( two different states) .  New York should be able to keep both teams name.  If you want to hold the Raiders to a standard, than you should be prepared to hold your own team to exact same standard.( or you're a Hyprocrite).

That's the problem Mark Davis isn't a billionaire.    He comes from a football family, , and not a business family worth Billions.( probably the poorest owner)

The only way he was going to get to keep the Raiders , and get a new stadium was with public money.   It's easy to say he should have sold the team , to someone  in the area who could have built the stadium with private money.( no one in his position wouldn't have done it any different).

Yep.  If only we could walk a mile in Davis's shoes.  He might could always save some money by getting that bowl cut at a local barber shop.  Just a thought.

How is a good thing for the NFL to have 3 teams move in 2 years?

This league sucks.  They dont give a **** about their fans and have zero integrity.

It is awful. Why can't all those billionaires owners help out the owners in smaller markets. Personally I it pretty awful Raiders are leaving Oakland. Their fans are pretty wacky but they love their team. Not about the fans anymore though. It's about corporate boxes and fantasy football.

They already do with revenue sharing.  It's why all 32 NFL teams are, I believe, in the Top 50 among richest American "Big 4" sports franchises.

They're just greedy.  Anything to make even more money.

Yeah but that would be fair. NFL don't do fair.

The guy comes to the Owners meetings in white 2009 van.  He conducts his business dealing at Hooters.    Every single NFL owner looks down on him. Each sees that he isn't rich enough.   Who cares, he's our owner- just a regular guy competing against the big boys

I was thinking along the lines of helping smaller markets get new more profitable stadiums. Maybe more teams could share a stadium?

Is there a more iconic logo in the NFL other than the Cowboys?  To have them out of Cali?  Unreal.

The NFL is trash.  Pure trash.  It's a stupid, scripted, predictable league, that revolves around 1 positoin and the only thing that matters is driving revenue.  I hope this is a disaster, just like the Rams and Chargers are bound to be.

Did you mean to type Raiders instead of Cowboys?

Gruden always says dumb shit because he is fighting back the urge to scream "suck dick" because of his Tourette's. Whole facial tic thing is a dead giveaway.

No.  I typed what I meant to say.  Cowboys and Raiders are IMO the 2 most iconic NFL logos and now one plays in Vegas.

Ok. Yet I still think moving within a State or across a river is different than moving to another separate Locale all together.

Agreed 100%.  Move the Chargers to Vegas, nobody gives a **** about them.  Let the Raiders stay in Cali where they should be.

That's how he sells himself.  His life choices have nothing to do with the fact that his net worth is still considerable and the Raiders will be even worth more money after he is done paying off B of A.  He's smart with PR.  Him giving refunds to people who have bought tickets is PR.   But he is not a REGULAR GUY.  If he wants to sell the team and work at 12 hours a day at an Home Depot, then he can be a regular guy.  I will give him the fact that he has inherited some of his father's ingenuity and ability to think outside the box.  I would trade that sh_t head Woody for Davis any day of the week.

You can't compete today in Sports if your owner isn't a billionaire.( money you need on hand just to put in escrow to sign a big time player is expensive. ( Davis doesn't have that cash on hand).

The Jerry Jones aren't looking to make hand outs, just the most money possible. ( they want all their members to be in billionaire club.

Art Modell didn't want to leave Cleveland, he thought that was his only way to keep the team in his family name longterm( moving to Baltimore) .  Eventually he was forced to sell the Ravens.

Probably at some point Mark Davis will have to do like wise with the Raiders.   Good chance it will be The Fertittas brothers( sold UFC for 4 billion) who want to get into NFL badly.

You have to work 12 hours a day at Home Depot to be a regular guy? Kinda a narrow definition? No?

Dana White as the new face  of the Raiders? Good heavens.

And you know many regular guys who fly 500 miles to Palm Springs to get a haircut?  I'd say that makes him odd not a regular guy.  I just think he has a good publicist, that's all.  NFL owners know who they are selling their product too and they know how to get discussions going to sell their agenda.  It's a league build on "positive spin."  They even pay for planned curriculum in class rooms.  The NFL is as interested to appealing to the regular guy, as Music Companies are too a little white girl named Debbie who listens to Taylor Swift.

You can lie to yourself all you want and say that it doesnt matter but you know it does.  The same fans that were going to the home games in NY for the most part are taking the extra couple minutes to go to home games in NJ.  I doubt the same can be said for past and future raider fans.

How are you taking this?  Do you live in/near oakland?

Raider fan for life.    Doesn't matter where they play, just don't change the Name or the colors.   True being a raider fan living on the East coast( Mahopac Ny)  , I don't have as much skin in the game.( would suck if I actually lived in Oakland) . Still going to go to my three Raidergames - whether on the road , or at home.

i wish they could have stayed in Oakland, but the Raiders needed a new stadium. ( their stadium now is a dump)  Can't compete when your team at the bottom of the revenue pool.    No state income taxes in Nevada is a game changer to me.

Well that makes sense then.  I'm sure the Black Hole regular natives feel very differently.  It's much easier to detach yourself from the location if you're a remote fan to begin with.
