but you really don't know if they were bad moves yet.

As I said, I philosophically disagree with them.  Short of adding the next Ed Reed and Brian Dawkins to play together, I just don't think we made the right decisions towards building a contender.  I can say that now, regardless of how they pan out.  Again, I'm not sure creating a super-unit at safety is a good use of resources, even if we assume that's what we've created.

I don't think they care or were seeking your approval, but I could be wrong .

I'm on the Suck for Sam (or Rosen) train, so I don't really mind skipping the QB and I'm actually not that down on the Adams pick, I get it was the value pick.  I'd have traded down, even if I couldn't get perfect value, just to add more players to a roster severely depleted of talent.  It's the doubling down on two safeties, both of which aren't known for their coverage skills, that I think is philosophically problematic.  And Best Available is a favorite among people talking about the draft, but just because everyone loves ranked lists, doesn't mean reality works like that.  How much better is Mayes than the guy on your list right after him, and how much worse is he than the guy right after him?  I think grades, or groups, are more realistic.  The point being, I'm willing to bet there was a similarly ranked player available that might have been a better value to this franchise with that pick.  Or, again, they could have traded down there, and added another 2 next year.

I am also in the Suck for Sam bandwagon (although I hold out hope for Hack).

Trading down would have been fine, because we could have landed Howard about 10 picks later. But if they had Adams ranked way higher than Howard, then I can't really fault them. But Adams better be "Leonard Williams good" or else it will look foolish. The same with Maye. I don't like going safety-safety but all will be forgotten if Adams/Maye turn out to be studs for the next 10 years.

The Maye selection will be judged on how well the likes of Sidney Jones/Shaheen/Everett/Tabor/Wilson play. If we missed out on a pro bowl TE or CB  it will look really bad even if Maye turns out to be good.

Off the cuff I would agree but when you take a closer look at Super Bowl winning teams, on everyone there's pretty much an All-Pro caliber Safety on the roster.

McCourty, Ward, Thomas, Reed, Rolle, Polamalu, Woodson, Sanders, Lynch, Harrison, Butler, Woodson, Lott....

This is kind of my point though. All of those teams also had studs at at least two and often more of the following positions: QB, LT, WR1, CB1, EDGE. So in a vacuum, sure, Adams is great. In a vacuum, even Maye is perfectly fine. But we're not in a vacuum. We're going into year three of this regime and have nothing--absolutely nothing--at any of those positions.

Resorting to calling on Jif's expertise to support your case is a fairly convincing bit of evidence suggesting you've lost the debate

My draft evaluations speak for themselves.  It's been proven time and time again, every year and I've only been wrong once.  My take on Maye is spot on and sometime next season, you're going to be watching Maye thinking, damn, that JiF knows his sh*t.

I'm not crazy about the two safeties either, but if JiF says he's good, I will take him at his word.

I gave Mac a B plus partly because of that.

You bumped Mac up two full letter grades because a shameless UF homer gave Maye a lukewarm review?

Jordan Willis

Considering he's was sitting their in the 3rd when they traded back out of that pick; how about we stick in the secondary outside of the position they drafted at 6th overall.  I'd have preferred both of the Florida CB's who went in the 2nd round as opposed to a Pryor/Miles clone with a little more speed.  Dont like them, Sydney Jones? Seems to me, that CB is a high value position which happens to be something the Jets could use.

The Broncos took Demarcus Walker, who I like a lot and they're pretty good at drafting pass rushers.

I don't hate Adams as a player (or Maye, for that matter). But there's a few positions that really, really matter in the league right now, and we don't seem to be making progress at any of them.

How fun will it be when Watson wins AFC OROY and Dalvin wins OROY NFC?

No. I originally gave him an A-, and bumped him down. The two safeties thing bothered me a bit. Plus he didn't address corner til late

Can you give me 500 words on why "2 Broke Girls" is better than "M*A*S*H"?

Dbutt and I have been bro'ing out lately.  It's like we've rekindle the love we once had and it's driving Shane crazy.  He doesnt know how to act.  Sad to watch really.  You can tell its the story of his life.

The CB's I agree with...the TE's?  I like Leggett more to be honest.   If Demarcus Walker adds to an already insane pass rush for the Broncos, that will be a stinger too. Basically, all the Florida boys to go in the 2nd round are legit and never did I think Maye would be taken before a single one of them.

Watson ain't winning sh*t. Dude gonna throw 150 picks if he starts.

Watson is going to make us all cry for passing on him.  And when it happens, I'd like you to record it selfie style and post it for the whole board to see.

Why can't the Maye pick be judged on how Maye plays and how his play affects the Jets?

well depends on it you into "lite" porn or little spice

the 2 darlins in waitress uniforms can easily be turned into 500 spanking words

or if you into a little spice it could be about my trip into Seoul with radar and his misshapen hand and how he used it like a swiss army pocket knife to open the most secure delights
