Hi everyone. We have a new ad network and we are having a few issues. There have been a few redirects, and that isn't supposed to happen. What I am seeing more of are ads that play sound without being clicked on. The ads are set to mute by default.

If you hear an ad playing, can you post the sponsor name here? The network will look into it but I need to tell them what company, or companies, it is.

Speaking of which, whats with the video player ads at the bottom showing NESN videos all the time?  Ads are find but video ads consume bandwidth and cause congestion and slower site loading.  I haven't had any issues with videos unmuting on this site but I also stop them altogether, I've experienced it on other sites though. Just my 2 pennies :P Thanks for looking into it!

The redirects are an issue.

JN is the only site I seem to get them on and it's concerning honestly.

I haven't viewed the site as a guest. I will try to do that tonight. Wasn't aware of this.

It is a HUGE concern. I agree.

This network that we just joined was supposed to provide better quality ads. They are filling 100% of our page views, so we now (finally) have just one network to check with. We will get it fixed, otherwise we can't run their ads.

The video player is something that they want in there, but I was promised it would be muted. It does take longer to load, but the way it is setup is that the page content should load and that loads in the background.

Ads are annoying, but it is an unfortunate reality. We had problems with several ad networks, I think these guys will work it out. I love that they are filling 100%, it is one stop shopping. And like I said in the other post, it makes it easier to troubleshoot when an ad goes wrong.

So any information you guys can post about problems, please post it here. I will have them take a look so we can get it fixed.

There definitely seems to be something seriously wrong.

I noticed that as well, site is never really "idle" it's constantly refreshing/requests and occasionally the redirect.

Me too..... on my office PC I thought I saw a virus warning that my virus software caught. A Trojan something....  

very nerve wracking on a PC. NO issues on my IPAD.

Thanks for that.  I thought it was my machine but JN was the only place it was happening

I've experienced this issue but it is usually A/V or system resources issue.  If on a windows PC then when it happens try and have your task manager opened to the performance tab and see if you are spiking your CPU usage or possible disk drive I/O usage.

I have. It gets bad at times on my phone. On my laptop the site borders on being unusable. 

I don't complain because the site is free, and Max is doing what he needs to in order to keep it that way. But I'd be lying if I said the ads have not affected the site's performance considerably.

the problem I'm having is occuring on my iphone fwiw....It only starting doing it recently, not sure if it means anything or even a problem but again, i swear I think it's been draining my battery.

When you're done viewing JN or any website double-click the iphone home button near bottom, slide up and close all open apps to save your battery

Don't hurt yourself, "Jetrider".

I have 3 window PCs and have had no issues. However, I am constantly redirected every 30 seconds on my iPhone. I typically can't even get through one page of a thread when viewing from my iPhone.

Why not have a paid option that removes all the ad network stuff?  Not only remove the visible ads, but whatever scripts that run as well, so performance isn't hurt.

Then members have the option to use for free with some ads (but hopefully not too many or we won't have much a community left), or pay a bit to have it ad free.

That's pretty common, you know how it notifies you when someone comments on a thread you are in or quotes you.. FB would have the same if not more activity
