It's an internship, not a coaching job. For all we know her job is going to be setting up tackling dummies and fetching water and Gatorade. The "outrage" over this is just ridiculous.

And it's 100% fine by me. Training is fine. And you're right it's not a full time coach.

Let me be clear, I am neither offended nor angry she is getting the opportunity.

I am annoyed that people who (correctly) sees this as the cynical marketing driven PR it so obviously is are in any way considered sexist for pointing out that fact.

I'm in Europe while GF works in their Europe office.    I can easily see life without NFL.  Most of the world does.       I'm actually in a bar watching soccer with a scotch.   Killing time on JN.

The important question.....what Scotch?

It's becoming so much easier to stop following this league altogether. What a joke it has become. National Pansy League for sure.

For real.  I mean, I was okay when Big Ben raped a few ladies, or when Darren Sharper raped all those ladies, or when Sheldon Richardson drove 100+ MPH with a gun and a child in the car, or when Ray Lewis killed that dude, or when Pac Man Jones made it rain, or when Aaron Hernandez killed a bunch of dudes, or when Plax had an illegal gun and shot himself, or when Ray Rice punched his girl on camera, or when Joe Mixon punched a girl on camera, or when Greg Hardy beat up a woman off camera, or everything Brandon Marshall's done, or when Stallworth got a DUI manslaughter, or when Vick was the kingpin of a dogfighting ring, or Adrian Peterson whipping his kids nutsack with a stick, or when Kellen Winslow Jr. jerked off in a Target parking lot... But, let me tell you, when a black man kneels for a song or a lady is hired as a coaching intern... That's where I draw the line.  Enough is enough already.

Yeah man, f*ck being inclusive and giving people a fair shake based off of their merits and not based on what's between their legs, am I right?

And here I was thinking, "oh great, another vagina in our defensive backfield"

I think it's a great idea, and likely a harbinger of things to come on other teams as well.  More than  anything, women always want to know where their man is going and if she can communicate that urgency to our defensive backs,  our defense should improve 100%.

I think you're overdoing it a bit, no? I mean, Ben only raped two of them. Plus I heard they not only weren't ladylike, but they were asking for it.

They're all asking for it all the time.

Yes, good observations on the lack of backlash on all those things....

Adrian Peterson whipping his kids nutsack with a stick -- really? Like Le Chiffre in Casino Royale? Damn.

On a side note, I can hardly wait for the reaction when the NFL franchises a team In Mexico. Should be a gringo meltdown of Chernobyl proportions.

Far be it from me to agree with Francesa, but how many college and prep coaches are toiling away after playing and learning the game who were skipped over for this job so the Jets and the NFL can make a splash? This a PC joke. Because of this woman's plumbing she cut the line, and really having never played a down she has no business being on the line at all.  Basketball might be different because women actually play hoops. But football, no fricking way.

"60 Minutes" had a piece last year about a girl transitioning to a man who get accepted at Harvard to swim(don't think the Ivy schools have athletic scholarships anyway but). Now she was a very good female HS swimmer, but as a guy it's a joke. She is short and dumpy around a filed of long tall cut swim guys. And the only time she gets in the pool and doesn't lose some guy probably had a cramp. Of course CBS and Harvard present this as wonderful, and my thought was what about the guy that got dumped from the men swim team for this complete sheetshow? Same thing here; PC nonsense over substance.

Agreed.  Total PC bullsh_t.  That's the world we live in today though.

Not here, Todd Bowles is a perfect example of that.

I wouldn't be so quick to make that conclusion for a 3rd year HC with one winning and losing Season.

Definitely things that he needs to work on but last year's team was terrible from a talent perspective which exposed his limitations.

Don't get me wrong, he's not a good coach, but he's not as bad as he is new to the position.

He's a bottom feeder NFL coach his 1 winning season was against the weakest teams in the NFL I thought you knew that.

This is valid when it comes to player perspective, such as not paying Fitz 12 million because he had his first winning season against the weakest teams in the NFL. But when it comes to coaching it has to said that his talent on the field was suspect (Fitz as his starting QB having an outlier season). The moment Fitz became the Fitz we all knew look at the result.

Again, im not saying that Bowles is a great coach, but given my views this is why I said firing him after his 2nd season is a mistake.

Look at Pete Carroll. When we had him as a coach he was a rookie. He went 6-10. Look at his roster. His newness to the position along with his roster is why he went 6-10. Today he's a top 5 coach in the league. It's the same guy. Better as a coach, better players on the field.

Surf Legend Laird Hamilton Falsely Blames Shark Attacks on Women's Periods

Sorry, sharks just aren't that into period blood.

Yesterday, surfer legend Laird Hamilton proved to the world that even famous "watermen" may need to take a science class. TMZ cornered Hamilton in Malibu as he was getting into his car to ask him about the odds of being bitten by a shark, thanks to recent reported sightings on SoCal beaches.

"Most shark attacks aren't fatal," he told TMZ, looking off camera with an air of authority. "It's usually a mistaken identity," referring to the possibility of a shark mistaking a person for a seal.

Unfortunately, he continued: "The biggest, most common reason to be bitten is a woman with her period, which," he shrugged matter-of-factly, "people don't even think about that. Obviously, if a woman has her period, then there's a certain amount of blood in the water."

Researchers, however, have debunked this myth. Dr. Steve Kajiura of Florida Atlantic University's Shark Lab told Broadly last year that there's no evidence sharks attack the menstruating more than other humans. And while these creatures can detect blood from more than a quarter mile away, period blood isn't actually all blood. According to The New Our Bodies, Ourselves, menstrual fluid contains "cervical mucus, vaginal secretions, mucus and cells and endometrial particles as well as blood (sometimes clotted)."

One marine biologist told Mother Jones that she actually started menstruating while swimming with a whole bunch of sharks, and nothing happened. "I've been diving for decades and even got my period while underwater with a school of hammerheads," said Marie Levine, founder and executive director of the Shark Research Institute. "The sharks were not interested and I had to fin like crazy to get close to them."

Moreover, sharks aren't really on the hunt for your blood anyway. Dr. Tricia Meredith, a biologist at Florida Atlantic University who's studied the olfactory response of sharks, previously told Broadly that she hasn't researched human blood's effect on sharks because it's not relevant. "I never investigated shark's sensitivity to blood. I used amino acids instead because they are prey-related odors, and human blood is not. I know people are interested in sharks sniffing out our bodily fluids so they can find us and bite us, but that's just not how it works."

I would sort of be ok if the only thing sharks ate were menstruating women.
