Gas2No99
Three days after releasing LB David Harris, the Jets have signed former Dolphins and Giants LB Spencer Paysinger. In 15 games (three starts) last season for Miami, he played 315 defensive snaps and recorded 51 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Paysinger (6-2, 249) played every linebacker spot for the Dolphins, but he was primarily an inside linebacker. The Jets have a void at middle linebacker now that Harris is gone Spencer Paysinger - LB - Jets Jets signed LB Spencer Paysinger, formerly of the Dolphins. He's the domino after the release of longtime ILB David Harris. 29-year-old Paysinger (on June 28) played 334 snaps for Miami last season and will compete for a depth and special teams job with tanking Gang Green. C Mart
Pre 2011 Draft Write-ups: http://www.fanaticalyankee.com/2012-scouting-reports/spencer-paysinger-scouting-reports From Consensus Draft Services: A former wide receiver, Paysinger is an athletic linebacker who is great on the run.... Below average instincts and play recognition. ... Lacks strength at the POA and in making tackles in the box. ... Paysinger's speed and athleticism will get him to a team's training camp and if he shows enough, he could make a roster by contributing on special teams or get developed on a team's practice squad. Paysinger spent the previous two seasons with the Dolphins, appearing in 29 games (three starts) and racking up 83 tackles. The 6’2″, 249-pounder originally signed with the crosstown rival Giants as an undrafted free agent following the 2011 Draft. For his career, Paysinger has played in 91 games (17 starts) and has totaled 157 tackles on defense and 70 more tackles on special teams. Click here to read the full story... Sarge4Tide
He's definitely going to be in the mix for that last ILB spot with Bruce Crter, Julian Stanford, Randell Johnson, maybe Conner Harris.....gonna be a nice battle for 1 or 2 spots on the final roster

Gas2No99
Erik Walden - LB - Free Agent According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, the Jets have had talks with free agent OLB Erik Walden in "recent weeks." Walden has generated a surprising lack of interest after leading the Colts with 11 sacks last season. The reluctance could be due to his age (he turns 32 in August) and lack of production prior to 2016. Walden, who has also drawn interest from Tennessee, may not be an ideal fit for a Jets team that's gone out of its way to get younger this offseason. Gas2No99
Jets try to replace David Harris by signing ex-Giant linebacker Less than 30 minutes after posting David Harris' farewell letter on their official website, the New York Jets announced the signing of linebacker Spencer Paysinger (classy), who began his career with the New York Giants. So much for letting the nostalgia soak in. Paysinger was a member of the Giants' Super Bowl-winning team in 2011 after making the squad as an undrafted rookie. He spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. In 2016, he played 15 games (three starts) and appeared in 315 defensive snaps. He finished with 51 tackles and two fumble recoveries, playing mostly inside linebacker. This doesn't mean the Jets have filled the Harris void. Paysinger (6-foot-2, 249 pounds) provides depth at inside linebacker and he also contributes on special teams. In fact, he played 259 snaps on special teams last season. For his career, he has 91 games played and 17 starts. Paysinger turns 29 on June 28, which makes him relatively old in the Jets' new world. The leading candidates to replace Harris at middle linebacker are Demario Davis and Bruce Carter, neither of whom is an ideal "Mike" linebacker. The Jets will get a look at Paysinger at next week's mandatory minicamp. They completed the OTA portion of the offseason on Thursday.
