I mean, he's right.

No He's not, at least not entirely .  Kap deserves to be in the NFL, but he has no place on a team like the Jets while Josh McCown does, and it speaks to a person's level of objectivity if they can't understand why .Kap should be a backup on a team like the Bucs, o the Titans or the Eagles o any NFL team with a young starting QB who's entrenched as the starter . He doesn't belong on a team trying to develop a young QB or a team with an aging veteran QB that has an up and coming prospect like the Chiefs .

He has no place on a team trying to identify a talented young QB, who hasnt had a QB in 40 years? 29 is the prime age for a QB. That's usually when the light goes on and they start putting it together.  Kaep might have another 10 years under his belt the way he takes care of his body.

I dont understand this logic.  You dont bring him in and hand him the starting job, you bring him in to compete.  McCown?  Is a total waste of everyone's time.  You already know he sucks, playing him does nothing for this team and the Jets have been down this same stupid road for 2 straight years.  He's not pushing anyone to be better.  He's just here wasting everyone's time being a glorified cheerleader.

With Kaep, you have someone who actually pushes and challenges Hack and Petty.  You have a player who's won division, a conference and can elevate his play when necessary. He presents a nice option in the very good chance that the 2 youngsters dont work out.  He could end up being a long term starter whereas right now you have a guy who sucks and is on his last leg, you have Petty who probably isnt in this league very long and you have a complete wild card in Hack.  Kaep actually gives you an actual bridge to the future because he could be the future.  Especially if the greatest QB class ever, doesnt turn out to be the greatest QB class ever.

But, no lie, I had America's Funniest Home Videos on before and one of the videos was a baby throwing Christmas ornaments at a tree and Tom Bergeron's narration was "He could start for the Jets right now." That's where we are. Getting mocked by the alt-right home video show.

Why the f*ck are you watching America's Funniest Home Videos, you psycho.

Damn I had to read half the thread to realize he is talking about Kapernick. Neither of those two QBs play for the Jets right now so that's dumb. Kap took a knee not a stand. If he stood he prolly be the front runner here in training  camp right now.

He would have to be a starter to take a knee which is the most pathetic part of the whole debacle.

Hard to kneel on the bench which is why it took 3 weeks for anyone to notice.

I thought the light going off meant you were dead.

1)  Kaepernick is not that good.

2) He chose to take the stand he wanted to take, it's all on him.  No real explanation, no specific statement, he just did something that annoyed the hell out of a lot of people and he has to own it.

When it is time to pay the players it is all about business, all about we are entertainers but when you do something that annoys the fans you are hard done by.  F'k him  I could care less if he ever plays another down in any league.  His 'supporters' will bleat about his poor plight no matter if he plays or not.

also, Petty looked like Marino compared to Kapernick in the Jets/Niners game.

I actually liked what I saw out of Petty last year, but because of the Fitztragedy the Jets dont have the ability to really give both Petty and Hack a legitimae shot.

Crapernick isn't  in the league because he sucks.   If Michael Sam  could get to the Qb , nobody would care if he takes it in the can.   He can't , and  these social warriors have to try and find a victim. ( when in sports if you can play ,teams don't care who or what you are.   ESPN and the rest of sports media if you're so worry about Crapernick - than offer him a job.

Mike Francessa is huge because he takes the contrarian position to what most of his audience believes.

Guys like Bill O'reilly have built media empires around the notion that over half the audience that tunes in disagrees with him.

ESPN airs sh*t during the day that infuriates the people who are how during the day tuning in. They aren't trying to be "social warriors", they are trying to get ratings. They are providing content that provokes the people irritated by the notion of "liberal, social warriors".

Anger and outrage are triggers for the sympathetic nervous system. The state of mind often triggers the release of andrenaline, and other chemicals tied to the fight or flight response. Some people become addicted to this feeling, as though it's the only time they are feeling. They thrive on being outraged... these people are the target, and these people are more often than not the folks who bitch about people being outraged about something socially. These people transition between moments in their day that keep them in a constant state of pissed off, defensive and argumentative. So, the media they prefer consuming also needs to be a trigger for this.

He's 17th in NFL jersey sales and he's not even on a team.  He couldnt have been too annoying.  17th in jersey sales is good business.

Hey Richard: a year ago after throwing 30+ TDs and leading a team to 10 wins NO TEAM wanted to sign Ryan Fitzpatrick. where was the uproar?  and Richard it's not about the protest- every other player that protested is currently in the NFL but those other players didn't double down w/ support of Fidel castro, wearing cops as pigs socks or calling police modern day slave catchers.  That is a lot to overcome for a mediocre backup QB.  if he was a star QB he would have been signed in a heartbeat but he's a mediocre backup now and what team would want those distractions from their backup?

As a serious response this is correct. The sports media is entertainment, not journalism. The sports media cycle is built on taking news and manufactured "news" (e.g. rumors, things guys just made up that sound like they came from the inside, opinions from actual insiders) and injects them on equal footing as the foundation for what is twenty-four hours of commentary. The commentary is built around creating disagreement. Then they comment and report on the disagreement and create more disagreement. Repeat until the cycle ends. Then repeat the entire cycle. Look at how much factual news goes into a day of ESPN or other sports entertainment. It's very few facts outside of reporting scores, W-L records and game stats. Most of the other "facts" of the day are opinions and speculation dressed up as credible facts.

Or super-hot chicks saying something, being looked at awkwardly by the ex-NFL player co-hosts, and then everyone laughs because: look at those legs THO
