Lets keep this thread going all year for info on our franchise savior.  Please report back what you see if you catch darnold, rosen, allen etc on tv.

Josh Allen.  Ouch.  Wyoming getting blasted  by Iowa.  Allen has 170 years, 0 tds and 1 pick.  As of week 1, he is out of the picture as a guy were are taking at 1.

Darnold plays at 5pm today.  Rosen is tomorrow.  If Lamar Jackson is in the picture, he is playing tonight.

Keeps us informed on what you see, hear etc.

Allen just threw another pick.  174 yards w/ 0 tds and 2 picks.  His team has 3 points and the game is almost over.

Well this was kind of expected.  He is the biggest project of all the potential QBs.

Josh Allen in 2 career games vs. Power 5 teams (Nebraska, 2016; Iowa today): 39 of 72 (54 percent), 1 TD, 7 INTs.

His WR did drop a sure TD.

Josh Allen fluffed his lines earlier. Wyoming WRs didn't help him much but he has to produce better than he did against one of the few top level opponents he will face all year.

Mason Rudolph was excellent last night.

Looking forward to seeing Darnold later.  I'll be disappointed if he doesn't hit the ground running

Not good stats, but he's playing against Iowa on the road with a young team.
He has promising elements that will help him transition to the pros:

- Excellent frame with room to bulk up
- Big arm
- Shows decent touch
- Shows the ability to keep accuracy while on the move
- And maybe most important he's in a pro style offense.  Where he's taking
snaps from under center and in the shotgun.  Also, he's calling plays in
the huddle and making adjustments at the line

Mac does like his "project" QBs now so looks like he's gonna be high on the board.

Some could even draw a comparison with his accuracy to Hacks.

Josh Stidham from Auburn is playing tonight 7:45, he is the 2nd most intriguing prospect.

PS don't waste your time on Rosen tomorrow night nothing to see there.

One of the reasons I like reading your reports is you always look beyond the obvious . The Cowboys can't hang with the Hawkeyes and that was the reason I thought this was going to be a great matchup . I wanted to see how this player would look against this type of competition . Taking everything into consideration, I tend to agree with your assessment.  Later tonight, Darnold will play against a team he should dominate and when he does, fans will go nuts. The truth is, you have to look beyond the numbers and see what's important . Tomorrow, Rosen plays against a team with equal talent and he is the QB we will actually get a true eye test of .  That's the game I will be interested in reading what you have to say  above all others .

Do what you do beloved .

Allen being considered a "big time" prospect is an absolute joke.  It's the same reasoning that got Blake Bortles, Paxton Lynch, and Patrick Mahomes drafted well before they should have.  Problem is this class is really strong.  He'll drop like a stone.

Every word there applies to Hack as well in college and people want to lynch him.

Allen looked Horrible. Even with the tough competition, you gotta make better decisions. He is off my draft board.

I agree.  All offseason to prepare and you come out like that?  I understand struggling against a better team but those numbers are pathetic.  Off my board as well.

The bold is certainly a plus but should not be the "most important" element.  Putting too much weight on exposure to pro-style offenses and taking snaps from under center is what leads to over-drafting guys like Hackenberg and Sanchez and passing on guys like Mahomes.  More emphasis should be place on the elements that can't be taught.  As long as the prospect has the aptitude the bold should not be a problem.

You can dismiss Allen, but the way fans look at college QB's isn't
the way scouts look at QB's.  Stats aren't the deciding factor you
have to look beyond that and at the elements he's going to need
at the next level

Agreed, but sooner or Later, The cowboys are going to need a game like Cutler had against Florida back in the day . Allen needs some help .

@Maxman We need to sticky a thread to watch 2018 QB's. I know you think we will go 11-5 and win Superbowl this year but for people who think we will secure a Top 3 pick this year, can you sticky this thread?

Nope. Thanks for asking though.

Kind of thought that is the purpose of the NFL Draft forum?

Yeah I would definitely pin in there. I didn't want to move it though, everyone would yell at me lol.
