He's like Leaf because he blames his poor play on his coaches, instead of himself. You're like Archie Bunker blinded by your own perception. Did you watch the game last night, Arch? Nope. Darnold basically told reporters they can't run the same play without changing its look or it becomes too obvious. That was taken as a knock on his coaches but he's right. They should listen to him. He's like Peyton Manning already, running the offense. He took it all back and blamed himself, but we need that – a leader who will take charge, say what he needs, and make it happen. He was the adult in the room. You can blame Darnold for fumbles or some interceptions but he always speaks to the media, he always takes responsibility for the offense and never shies away from the truth. Even as he carries a mediocre offense. “We were a little older offensively (last year). Sam was able to worry more about himself,” Tyson Helton said. “Now he has to worry about a lot of people.” Maybe that includes the coaches too, hence the apology.

And you can say that Darnold’s schedule has been much tougher with a supporting cast that doesn’t come anywhere near what FSU had. On the interview he gave, I’m sure he was frustrated, but you’re right. He should t have said it. But he’s a 21 year old kid. There’s plenty of 21 year old that do and say stupid crap. that said, doesn’t matter what any of us think about him. His NFL career will be playing in Hell on Earth up in Cleveland. All the while we keep trotting out career back ups to win just enough games to prevent any kind of real change.
Greg555
So...if we can draft the third best QB (it’s possible..if we keep losing) who would it be at this point and would he be worth a top pick?

Warfish
Looks like Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma (vs. ranked Oklahoma State) are a national tv game next weekend. Will have to find some time to watch it and see a little of his play myself.
Lupz27
Anyone who thinks Darnold, Rosen, and Jackson aren't going 1,2,3, or at worst all 3 in top 5 are delusional if all 3 declare. Also guys who think Mayfield goes before RD 3 are equally delusional, but carry on with your fun thread.
