Reading the complaint it appears Meli also could have given up info on CC to the Feds, which isn't surprising.

Maybe Ive watched too much Sopranos but arent Meli,CC, Wright potential whack targets. They have to still owe major $$ to the "families".

I'm sure some internet tough talk is sure to follow my post. Some yadda yadda about so and so's uncle from Bensonhurst who knew Quickie G and might have placed a bet one time with Fat Dom's cousin Vinnie The Nose. Anyway, guys who are the target of a federal investigation are being watched by the feds all the time, for better or worse. And yes, the mob is no where close to what it was just 20 years ago.

Depends which Mob your talking about, the Chinese, and Russian mobs would kill someone while the Feds were escorting him if they wanted him dead, and that was their window, but yes the Italian Mafia is a shell of its former self.

Carton can't claim "gross misunderstanding" He literally got the hedge fund money by calling the concert promoter that the hedge fund sent the money to and telling them the wire they got was a mistake and they should send the money into his personal account. He is dead to rights there is no wiggle room if you read the complaint and the civil suit which goes into even more detail. He was running a real tight rope the Hedge fund actually wanted to call the concert promoter to confirm the wire info and he lied to them the executives were in meeting and couldn't get back to them. He could have easily been caught if the Hedge fund were just a little more diligent. Carton must have been really desperate to take such high risks really crazy.

Not to mention the numerous bogus company names he established, and forging signatures.

This actually helps carton a little. Legally he's still in big trouble but ripping off a hedge fund looks better than ripping off average ticket buyers. Plus the hedge fund looks incompetent for not vetting Carson. Either way, I think his career in New York is done.

A hedge fund guy who is as sharp as bowling ball if he fell for this crap.

Craig Carton speaks : 'The last two months have been hell' after arrest

Poor thing.

Maybe it's me, but that doesn't look to code. Where's the fence around the pool (or property) that would prevent an unattended child from reaching it and drowning? That fence looks like it's for horses (or, since I don't see stables, it's essentially decorative).

Isn't the entire property fenced in?  In most towns thats all thats required.

Thats a nice house for a radio gig,ive worked my entire life since I was 14 I cannot afford that place.

I said that in my post as well - "(or property)" - but it has to be more than just any fence type imaginable. Has to be one of a few types, of certain minimum height, etc. All I see is a low fence for blocking large animals that any child could crawl through blindfolded.

It does look pretty nice, though.

Maybe an alarm system takes the place of a pool fence?  Chester NJ is a nice area,I live nearby.

Maybe I'll call my realtor and go look at it and ask that question.

$54K a year in taxes. Do the children split atoms in 6th grade at the local public school, or do the cops all ride in Ranger Rover patrol cars?

What a scumbag.

Definitely the guy has issues. Like Kietel in Bad Leuitenant, Carton now is ‘Bad Sports Host’. He’s fortunate no one took violent offense to his dirty deeds.  Had the world in his hand and blew it all away to do what? Gamble? Threw his career, rep, and family down the toilet.  Addictions will get you sooner or later. He’s hit rock bottom.  Hopefully he gets the help he desperately needs. Wonder if Boomer was aware of this as it transpired. He must be shocked ?

That’s the reward for stealing Howard Stern’s material and then stealing money from your fans

Carton wanted to be Howard Stern and over the years it got to the point of obsession where he had to live Howard’s lifestyle without the $500 million deal from SiriusXM

You cannot afford that house on a 250k salary. No wonder the feds were on him.

His salary was actually $2.5 mil that was a typo but even still to have that mansion with NJ property taxes plus renting an expensive condo in Manhattan plus gambling no way he can afford that

That makes more sense, as much as it was being quoted around I refused to believe he was only making $250k/year.  He probably also pulled down another million a year for paid appearances and what not.

Are you sure it was $2.5M?  I thought I read he got paid $250K per year from WFAN.

I know the article you are talking about that was later corrected.

Really?!?!?  WFAN could afford to pay Carton that much??  I'm not sure I believe this.

He was only 1/2 of a duo with a former professional QB (Boomer).   I'm sure Francesa gets paid but the rest of these guys probably make between $100K-$500K

WFAN generates about $45 million in ad revenue that it reports every year.  They can pay their morning guy

Do you have a link that says he makes $2.5M per year?  Maybe he worked there 10 years and so he earned that much over that time?

I found another link saying he OWED $2.5M.  I still am highly skeptical that WFAN paid him $2.5M for that job.
