i tend to agree with this. i find it hard to believe a professional athlete could be out of shape in two weeks.  heck max mcgee went on a bender the day before superbowl 1 or 2 and emerged as the mvp.  many players just don't practice, gronk for one, for fear of injury but somehow manage to play pretty darn well on sunday.
