joewilly12
Powell and McGuire ok by me. FLORHAM PARK -- Jets running back Matt Forte had surgery last year to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. This week, Forte showed up with swelling in said surgically-repaired knee. He didn't practice Wednesday. The Jets held him out again Thursday. And it sounds like there's at least some concern about just when Forte will be healthy again. "Right now he did not practice, we'll see how it goes from there," coach Todd Bowles said. "I don't know if it's serious or not. Anytime somebody doesn't practice it's serious for me." Forte's dealt with various ailments the last few seasons. With the Bears in 2015, a Grade 2 MCL sprain cost him three games. Last year with the Jets, a hamstring injury sidelined him most of training camp, and a knee injury (torn meniscus) cost him the final two games of the season. This year, Forte missed two games with a turf toe (Week 4 and 5) before this latest knee issue popped up. Forte declined to talk to NJ Advance Media on Wednesday about his injury, and wasn't in the locker room on Thursday. In seven games this season, Forte has 57 rushes for 241 yards (4.2 yards per carry average) and two touchdowns. He has 29 catches for 222 yards. If Forte can't go for the Jets in this Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, they'll turn to veteran Bilal Powell and Eli McGuire. The two have combined for 831 total yards and three touchdowns this season.

JetNation
Matt Forte and Muhammad Wilkerson both missed practice on Thursday. Wilkerson has shown much improvement the past few weeks as he continues to battle through his injuries (shoulder, foot). Todd Bowles said nobody has been ruled out for the game on Sunday against Tampa yet. Morris Claiborne was limited in practice which is progress. He was able to run around in practice and his presence at cornerback would help as the Jets get set to face Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Bucs. Here is the full injury report for the Jets. You can read more about Matt Forte’s injury in our forums. rangerous
not a big fan of forte's running style but he does have some good pass catching ability and can still make some good runs once past the line. he'll be missed. powell and mcguire will just have to step up. maybe asj gets more involved too.
