Huge swing in draft order

Well that was a close one. Thanks to that lose to the Panthers Jets are are currently picking 7th instead of tied for 16th. If this stays the course and the difference in draft pick is so monumental the Jets fans deserve Chris Johnson pulling an executive move to make sure Christian Hackenberg starts. If nothing else at least use that mistake for something useful. All continuing to start Mccown does is make Bowles save face with a couple more wins to his record and destroying our draft position. It is obvious what needs to be done but Chris Johnson seems like a wimp who is used to sitting on his hands smiling like an idiot doing nothing. Mike Mccown cant do anything since they both report to Johnson.

Edit: Houston lost Monday night so now they have the 8th pick.

Matt Miller is not using the correct SOS. He is stupidly calculating SOS of teams played up until that point which is illogical since the schedule doesn't change.  Jason has us at 8th instead of 7th because Texans are 4-6 which should technically mean picking lower than the Jets pick but they will leapfrog us if they lose Monday

at least the texans may not want to draft a qb in the first round since they have watson.

That game in two weeks will be a big one for draft position.  We have a little more draft capital than they do with two 2s, but would like to pick ahead of them.  Denver is a tough place to play, but we always seem to one these pivotal draft position games.

No way in hell we win in Denver! 1- we suck on the road. 2- Broncos have Von Miller vs Beachum or Shell vs slow release cement shoed QB McCown. 3- Denver has 2 good CBs. 4- We can't run the ball. 5- Our offense will have at least 7 three & outs, tiring our defense.

Denver might be having a bad season but our offense does not match up to that defense. Probably the easiest money you've ever made depending on the spread.

I get the same impression. Based on something I read here that he is was use to  sitting in all the Jets meetings. Never mentioned having much if any input. Plus I know I didn’t even know the dude existed until I found out he was fostering the team while woody is gone. I’m pretty sure it was something right when they announced him taking over. I can look for it later.

I think there's a good chance that they go after Cousins. They're built to win now. They really can't afford to deal with a young QB's growing pains.

I wouldn't count the Dolphins out either in the QB market. Gase gets to chose his guy and Tannehill is do tons of cash and is coming of two torn ACL' s in less than a year.

This is so Jets. Chris Johnson is like the substitute principle in an entitled prep school of students making millions and the headmaster never hits the students with a ruler. They don't learn anything, make the same mistakes, and there are never consequences for bad behavior. 

The failure of this team starts at the top. Bowles is Kotite, it's like deja vu.

you just provided the main reason why the jets are taking a tackle in the first round of the 2018 nfl draft.  mccags was probably thinking that they would have won yesterday if the o-line was better and he isn't necessarily wrong.

Broncos would have to cut too many defenders to go after Cousins. I'll have to check their salary list but I would imagine Von Miller is getting almost QB money.

Number 1 we need a QB. 2 is the Oline. I'm very disappointed in Winters & it's obvious that resigning him was a mistake, and that really hurts because you could upgrade this entire line with only Shell (seems to have the most upside), and Carpenter. We have enough holes without having to rebuild the Oline again. Did anyone see Ardarious Stewart yesterday? How many Jet fans were posting to take Eiflin the center in that spot? Jet nation could draft with a poll & do a better job than the last 3 GMs this team has had. I like Macc but you can't make mistakes on your supposed starters. Wesley Johnson stinks, Winters is a way overpaid Jag penalty machine. Those types of positional decisions kill you. If I'm Chris Johnson I'm asking how & who decided that Winters should be paid and Wesley Johnson would be our answer at Center, when we had a chance to draft a better player to replace him & upgrade the position.

i would hope mccags will dedicate a substantial portion of his cap space to the o-line this offseason, it's the team's most glaring need after qb.  there's only so many positions that you can spend money on for the defense and with the safeties, lee and williams looking like the cornerstones of the d and davis looking like a harris replacement, it's really time to spend $$ on the o-line so if he accidentally does draft a qb he may actually have some protection.

Indeed Chris Johnson seems, based on his public statements, a good person and someone who is looking at the Jets for real in order to build a winner.

The Jets need to be all in on a QB, no matter where they draft.  Trade up, trade down, trade sideways - do whatever it takes to secure a top QB in the 2018 draft.  Nothing else matters until this happens.

Hope you are right, but that Denver team has been putrid over the last 2 months. 

7 straight losses, outscored by an average of 15 points per game during the losing streak, -16 in turnover margin on the season, home losses to a bad Giants team and a mediocre Bengals team, and as bad or worse QB situation than we have.  Do not underestimate the sucktitude of this Broncos offense.

Only game left on the schedule I'm concerned with is the Broncos game. I think they've quit on Joseph. The rest of the games they should be able to lose quite easily.

When was our last road win? Browns, lol. And we should have lost that game. Noisy stadium in Denver, and our Oline is mediocre at home & god awful on the road. When defenders can rush because of the noise factor our line crumbles.

Luckily, next week the Bears play the Niners and the Broncos play the Dolphins, so 2 of 4 teams ahead of us in draft order will be increasing their win pct. 

If we continue to slide we can inch our way to a top-5 pick.

Why does everyone assume we are loosing to Kansas ? On the surface of of it, they seem to have completely imploded. The Giants and Buffalo ? 

The Jets are not that bad, they are a medicore seven win team.

I think the Jets will win three of the next five.

Loss v. Chargers

Win v. Patriots B team (resting starters).

I can’t remember whether or not Belichick is a “rest your starters for a meaningless game 16” or not.  I feel like he doesn’t do that but I could be wrong.

Jets have won one 1 game on the road all year(@ CLE, by 3 pts.)

They are getting smoked by the Saints and Chargers. Chiefs are due for a good game. I think the Pats will be playing for HFA, so I doubt they sit many starters.

I wanna lean that they lose vs the Broncos in Mile High, but the Broncos have totally collapsed. They might squeak that game out.
