I Want Josh Allen

I know he has struggled a bit this season but he has the kind of arm talent you can't teach.   Had he came out last year, he may have been the first quarterback taken. Big and mobile (like Carson Wentz), he just needs to be coached up.   That is all the more reason we need to fire Bowles and get a legit offensive coach in here.   Someone who views the development of the quarterback as THE highest priority and not some Schmoe who plays nothing but journeyman quarterbacks at the expense of developing young talent.   Of the top quarterbacks available, it appears Rosen and Darnold may be gone before we pick.  I do like Lamar Jackson and would have no problem with him but Allen is more a traditional pocket quarterback who is mobile.  He would be perfect for the WCO but at the same time has great deep ball.

I think his ceiling is Aaron Rodgers, than again What do I know, he could turn out to be Brown Nagle.

Seriously though I really like his upside.  I realize there is still a lot of football to be played both in college (more tape to evaluate) and pros (we might slip up and win a few more games and make this a moot point).  Then there is the offseason with combine, pro days etc. so a lot can happen between now and the draft.  But if all things are equal, I would take my chances on this kid.

lol good point. So who do you prefer, that might actually be available?

Darnold and Rosen will be way off the board, with one of them becoming a New York Giant, so nothing matters, really. Let Macc draft a punter. Who cares? We’re all just waiting around for everyone to be fired at this point.

I would be okay with him too. My issue with him is lot of his throws were about YAC from his receivers. His arm seems a bit average (that might be proven to false at the combines etc. )  Playing at Metlife we need a strong armed quarterback imo.

Whats worse, Giants drafting Darnold or Bills trading up and taking him?  They certainly have enough picks to make that happen.

This is literally the last 4 drafted quarterbacks that the Jets have pinned their hopes on. I realize it's a lovely thing to say but it is nothing more than bullsh*t narrative. It isn't a thing. You can either play or you can't. Winners go home and **** the prom queen.

You don't think Morton and Jeremy Bates have had a positive effect on the offense?

Them, along with Greene, Dennard Wilson, and Dorrell are making it difficult to fully get on board with the fire Bowles movement.  These are good coaches that would have to be replaced.... again...

Darnold and Rosen have the least question marks of all the QBs but they do have marks.

for Darnold, it’s his decision making and for Rosen it’s his ability to stay healthy.

after those two Mayfield and Jackson, who had become a better passer this year.

I would put Allen at number 5, although his bow game will be intriguing

If this is the consensus, we may be faced with quite a Jetsian dilemma-Jackson or Allen?

There is no way Macc navigates that one in a way that makes everyone happy.

I am just thankful for the extra 2-3 wins we got this year.

Honestly, and maybe this is the cynic in me talking, if Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield are gone...then I would much prefer to just pass on a first round QB.  I really don't feel like picking the next Blake Bottles, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, etc. and being stuck with a bust for the next 5 years while we hopelessly pass on other prospects ala Jacksonville.

If he selects either one of those guys in the top 10, he will be fired within the next year or 2 and we will be f*cked for the next 4-5.
