Hiring Harbaugh and Scot McCloughan (With One Condition) poll

  1. 1. Jim Harbaugh and Scot McCloughan agree to take the Jets job, but only if they can sign Kaepernick. Would you take this deal?

Harbaugh looks miserable in Michigan because he hates alumni and recruiting and parents, and the fan base for that program is possibly the most entitled group of douches in all of college football. He’s probably not going to last two more years there, especially if he can’t land a top QB, which he won’t because he won’t kiss anyone’s ass.

McCloughan has some personal issues, but he’s a proven, brilliant talent evaluator who, along with Harbaugh, built that once-awesome Niners team, and made a bunch of savvy personnel moves for the Redskins.

Question: if you could hire both of them to take over the Jets—getting both Bowles and Maccagnan out of here immediately—would you do it? The caveat: they’ll only take the job if they’re allowed to sign Colin Kaepernick.

No thanks.  would love Harbaugh and he's the only one that got anything out of the Castro supporter but the gimmick keep O was a long time ago.  I don't think he would be able to duplicate that success and Kaep at best is a decent backup now not worth the headache for the things he has said and done(and I'm not even talking about taking a knee)

But if it doesn’t work, they’ll bench Kaepernick after a handful of starts and you still get a high level coach and talent evaluator to clean up this disaster. Worst case scenario is one year of bad Kaepernick and three good offseasons with a coach that knows QBs. Best case scenario is Harbaugh and Kaepernick bring the Jets to the Super Bowl.

He caught lightning in a bottle w/ Kaep in 2012.  the best case is not going to the SB and the worst case is far worse than you imagine.  If all Kaep did was take a knee I'd give him a chance but he has done so many dumb things since.  he would be a disaster here.

Explain “far worse.”

Dude: I see you drive an ‘86 Chevy Malibu. Here, take my Lamborghini.

Jets fan: What’s the catch?

Dude: I was eating a Filet O’Fish in there and part of it fell off and slid under the seat.

Jets fan: Whoa, no way. Keep your fish car.

In this scenario the lamborghini ... Just lost his 3rd OSU game in a row, has never beaten his teams biggest rival (only the 2nd Michigan HC to fail to do so in his first 3 years) and this time, blew a lead at home against a back-up QB in the second half.

He is 0-4 against OSU and Michigan State at home.  He is 0-7 against top 10 teams, and will finish in 4th in the Big East this year.

I’m with you that Harbaugh hasn’t gotten Michigan over the hump and not beating Meyer is a demerit, but I also don’t think he’s cut out to do the things one has to do to recruit at that level. He didn’t have to get in the dirt at Stanford like the does at UM. The kids that Saban and Meyer happily and vigorously recruit aren’t even allowed on Stanford’s campus. That’s why I think he’s destined to flee UM before long.

Shouldn't he just be "coachin' 'em up?"

I think he coaches a lot of them up, then loses games to players whose fathers are awarded cush no-show “jobs” at the shell companies of corrupt Ohio State alumni. I’m 100% applying an excuse to Harbaugh’s failures at UM, but I don’t think there’s any question he can coach at the highest levels. It’s the peripheral sh*t he’s never been good at.

Early results: you guys are self-defeating whackjobs.

Have you watched Michigan? Have you seen their offense this year? For a guy whose prowess is supposedly an imaginative offense and a qb guru, his offense has been entirely uninspiring. During his Michigan tenure, he has won on defense, and it was a defense that he inherited.

His claim to fame of glory is riding the coattails of Andrew Luck. He is a college coach if he is anything, and he may be more of a mid-major guy.

No offense, Scott, but six months ago you were telling me how awful James Franklin is. Your coaching eye is SKEWED, pal.

I'm kind of giving you a hard time... I agree that he can succeed at the highest levels.  I made that thread the other day because, if you subbed out OSU for New England, people here would be throwing fits.  We simply ignore it because we like the idea of Harbaugh.

James Franklin is NOT a great coach. He is an AWESOME recruiter. James Franklin is Herm Edwards heavy. Noit a game day manager.

PSU, with the talent they have this year, should be undefeated. They had a big lead on OSU, and decided to go into a shell. They came out flat after sitting in the locker room during a thunderstorm at MSU, and that has to sit on him as well.

Just wait until you see the number of first and second round picks that PSU has in the draft this year. Franklin squandered that.
