Freemanm
An overhaul is needed. They passed up on T/C Pat Elflien in the draft. They need At least one more guard and tackle. They will have a lot of cap space this offseason, it's time to spend it wisely. lets not forget that they went to back to back AFCCGs because they had the best OL in football. Prescott looked great in his rookie year because he was playing behind the best OL in football. Build the OL and extend the offense from there
20andOut
Sign Cousins draft one of ND O- lineman and add another, possibly center through FA.
Beerfish
I feel you can fill oline for guards and perhaps center via free agency but tackles is another thing, especially LT.
varjet
It the Jets commit to use their first second round pick, or maybe their second second round pick (more risky), they will be able to draft a C that could hold down that position for a long time. With a quality Center, the Gs will look better and can be plugged with FAs and lower round draft picks. I would think that Carpenter and Winters, as well as Beachum, who would be incentivized for new contracts, would play better next year without a bad Center to blame their problems on. But, particularly given Macc's propensity to go low on OL, the Jets could have gotten a C in round 3 in 2017, whereas this year they will likely need to 2/high 2, if not low 1 traded up. I really hate the Stewart pick.

Build the OL and extend the offense from there agree with this. johson has been missing blocks and he and winters are penalty machines. and it would be different if at least they were blocking well as a unit. the good news is there are only 5 of them and what the jets really need to do is start seeing if they have any players currently on the team that they can try out. and failing hiring dante scarnecchia, they need to make sure the oline coach is getting to these guys and coaching them up. in the draft they need to use two upper draft chioces on oline. it's good they have two second rounders since they use the two seconds or one second and a third or fourth. and yes, hindsight being what it is, they would've been better off drafting elfein instead of stewart. C Mart
The inconsistent offensive line played one of its best games of the season in Sunday’s victory over the Chiefs. The unit didn’t allow a sack, and only allowed the stout Kansas City front to hit Josh McCown five times all game. “They were brilliant,” McCown said. Of particular note was how the line fared against Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston, one of the best pass rushers in the league. Houston finished without a tackle for the first time all season, and he only recorded one QB hit. Beachum commended second-year right tackle Brandon Shell for his performance. Beachum said Houston lined up on the left side opposite Shell on all but one snap Sunday. "I got to tip my hat to Brandon Shell," Beachum said. "He’s doing a wonderful job continuing to mature." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-insider-todd-bowles-reacts-ben-mcadoo-firing-article-1.3677249 So a 25-year-old can continue to improve? Impossible according to many of the "experts" here. Can you imagine how much 21/22 year olds can improve...Nah, not possible according to JN experts. Ohio State NY Jets fan
Billy Price will provide another chance for the Jets draft in 2018. After the success that Elflien had it will cost a 2nd but he could be better, has a mean streak http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/billy_price_854152.html
CanadienJetsFan
Shell seems like the real deal and the Beachum signing has proven to be quite the find, give credit to Macc. I think Beachum will be resigned, he's only 27 and seems well respected in the locker room. the backups , Qvale and ljalana are already in place so i dont expect them drafting or signing a tackle or guard. Now the center position needs upgrading and I expect that will be addressed in this year's draft.
