Darnold apparently said he won't play for the Browns

I heard that from Francesa today.  If so, that means the Browns might go for one of the other QBs or they'll just trade down.  If the Jets finish poorly enough, they can trade down with us and still possibly get one of the lesser big name QBs.  Keep in mind the 49ers will likely trade down as well (they've got Jimmy G).  Of course Denver still has a worse record than us too.  In any case, I think it's critical we lose the rest of the way and get as good a draft pick as possible.  It'll also be possible the Jets and Giants might have a major bidding war to get a specific QB.

As far as the Giants, we need to root for Geno this week because if he has one of his trademark 3 INT games, he'll probably be benched for good and that rookie Webb will take over (meaning the Giants will almost certainly lose the remainder of their games).

Believe something similar was posted about Darnold's camp innuendoing this message a week or 2 ago.

perhaps it could work to encourage Cleveland to move to pick #2 and pick whoever is still there Rosen or Darnold ... But I can't imagine they'd pass up both blue-chip QB's

if somehow it happened I would think Buff or a team sitting in the 3-4-5 range would most likely give CLE a better offer than we could ... Would rub wee-willy raw  on draft day though if somehow we come out with Darnold

It’s been rumored for a while. That he won’t come out if they get and keep the #1 pick ha. So there May be a play to trade up and grab him. It would be a lot easier to go from #4 to 1, than if jets decide to win some moral victories and having us sitting at 11

I haven't read or heard that anywhere else, and I highly doubt Francesca is breaking any Sam Darnold news.

Not any actual name to the quote ... But there was a rumor floated about something along these lines a week or 2 ago

Lol the NFL is in bed with the Giants they always have been, and always will be with the Giants picking as high as they are going to pick they essentially hold the #1 pick regardless, which ever QB they want they will get one way, or another trust me, just like 2004, if it’s Darnold they want then guess what the Giants will get Darnold, if it’s Rosen then guess what the Giants will get Rosen, “It’s true it’s Damn true”

I did read a few weeks ago that draft order was going to be a factor in Darnold’s decision whether to come out or not. If the Giants and Denver end up with the third, fourth pick, you could definitely see a scenario where the agents for Darnold or Rosen pull an Archie Manning. Why would any young QB willingly go to Cleveland or the Jets? They’re both career graveyards populated by the skeletons of former, disgraced QB prospects.

A few weeks ago Darnold had 9 TDs and 8 INTs. I think that would be the biggest factor in deciding if he was coming out. He is on a 15 \ 4 run now, if he didn't improve and he wasn't going # 1 staying would make more sense.

Some of you guys have to let go of this concept that pro athletes lose on purpose.

Josh Rosen is starting to remind me of Jay Cutler and Jeff George.  MANY reports out there that his teammates can't stand him.  That is NOT a good trait for your franchise QB.

Lol yes I know, most pro athletes are not the brightest tools in the shed ?. They don’t care if mac has to trade away another 1st and 2nd round pick by winning 2 pointless games.

That’s really sh*tty of me. I only do the birthdays when I open this bullsh*t website on my iPad and that sidebar is visible, but I don’t see them when I view this trash website on my phone. Happy birthday, Ken!

Kind of feel badly for DeShone Kizer. I still think he has a lot of potential, but got drafted by the most disorganized, impatient and ill-coached team in football (number two, of course, is the Jets). The fact is that the Browns are on their 8th head coach in like 16 years. There's a reason why their high draft picks never really pan out.

He reminds me of Big Ben, he can struggle at times, and look real bad, but more often then not he is good enough in the regular season to win enough games to get in the playoffs, and some how some way he just wins, and shows up real big in real big spots, again it’s not always pretty, but when he is on its amazing to watch, and just makes you shake your head at times like damn dude is good, and can play sh*t football for 3 quarters, but if the team is still with in striking distance that 4th quarter it’s like a completely different guy starting playing QB, and he pulls games out his ass.

Basically like Ben IMO he just knows how to win.  Besides Brady who is just in a different stratosphere of how consistently good he is week in week out rarely ever having bad games I’ll take Big Ben over everyone else if I had to choose a QB to start for my team once the tournament starts in January, and I can see Darnold being that type of QB.
