Dude is a team guy, tough, and that group NEEDED a veteran QB, we might have had a few home playoff games. Sometimes players just never end up in the best places for their careers. I remember him tearing up the Jets when he was a Brown & he tried to leap over a defender & got helicoptered and fumbled and knocked out of the game. No way we win that game if he didn't get hurt. Timing & where they end up is everything for players. Someone being coached under Belichick gets a hell of a lot more than someone being coached by Jack Del Rio, or Herman Edwards for that matter, ask Jericho Cotchery. In 2009, Josh McCown was a terrible backup QB who played in 1 game that year and was 1-6 for 2 yards in it. He’s having an average 2017. Let’s not make it anything other than what it is. Paradis
Seriously? Why do any of you cavemen think a FREE AGENT quarterback is going even consider the Jets as anything more than a drinking game. Seriously. Anyone worth their salt on sundays is looking at DEN, JAX, ARZ, etc etc. Not our sh*t show with no Oline and a disney movie's worth of weapons on offense. It’s highly unlikely giants being him back. Darnold or Rosen most likely would be the better option than Eli next yr at the fraction of the cost. McCown has had a better yr than Eli no question. Eli has done a lot in his career, but Father Time caught up with him a lot quicker than it has to McCown. Not that Eli could ever scramble. No question McCown is the better qb for 2 million vs Eli’s current 22 million salary. When the giants cut him, he will be a FA and probably get him for 10- 12 mil. Would you take Eli or McCown in that scenario ? It’s likely we won’t be drafting a qb in 1st round, especially one who is going to be ready out of the gate. I don't really like Eli, I think he's been terribly over rated for years. At this point, I don't think he's much better than McCown at all, and he'll cost 10million more per season, minimum. That Oline was incredible. Dbrick- Fanaca- Mangold- Moore- Woody! Holy sh*t! One of the best Jet olines ever. A top 10 ever in the NFL! Thomas Jones had zero wiggle & ran for a ton of yards. That line was amazing! The 2008 OL was probably the best of those 3 years so throw that excuse out the window. again, Favre never wanted to be here and he played like it. If we got 2009 Favre then we have a chance to win a few playoff games before he chokes but we didn't get that version. we got the guy who didn't care, the guy known for playing through pain using the injury excuse. Just b/c certain QBs put up #s doesn't mean they are going to win. Look at someone like Philip Rivers who walked into the most talented team in the league and only made one conf title game and to get there his BACKUP led the GW TD drive in the div rd after Rivers left the game w/ an injury. In the 2009 div rd Rivers had homefield, a bye and the more talented team yet he couldn't beat a team where Mark Sanchez was the QB.

Eli is ranked around the 22th ranked qb in the league. McCown 12th. Eli has been on a steady decline, he can’t move and our line sucks too. McCown May be few yrs older but Eli looks 10 yrs older. McCown surprisely can move and scramble. Eli cannot. I know he is just a name now, it Nobody is giving him a 3 yr deal, At least not guarteeed ha. And nobody is trading for Eli and paying him 22 mil lol. He should get away from the giants though. Maybe he can do decent with a team with a decent line. He won’t get that in either NY team ha.
