Jets reward season ticket holders with 'Super' prizes

Prior to kickoff against the Bills last Thursday, three Jets season ticket holders were equally surprised and elated when they were awarded Super Bowl LII tickets.

The eight fans knew going in that they would be rewarded for their 40-plus years with season tickets and the fact they had not missed a game since the inception of the Jets Rewards Program in 2014. However, they didn’t know exactly what that prize would be.

“We’re fan driven, fan centric,” said team president Neil Glat. “What happens out there on the field and all of the great things we do in the stadium and off the field, it doesn’t work without them. Hopefully they understand how much the organization cares about them and how important it is to us what they do for us.”

The Super Bowl ticket winners were Nick Stamatelos, who’s had season tickets since 1975 as well as Michael Scesney and Naomi Levy, both of whom have had tickets since 1977. Five additional season ticket holders won either JetBlue vouchers or signed Jets memorabilia.

“I’m grateful they took the time to acknowledge the 40-plus year ticket holder...” Levy said. “I used to come with my father and when he passed away, he transferred the tickets to me. It was something I always used to do with my dad and I feel close to him when I’m at the games. I just love coming to the games.”

“I’ve been to four Super Bowls before, but this is definitely going to be my favorite,” added Stamatelos, who plans to bring his nephew.

Faithful for decades, Scesney will be in Minnesota on Feb. 4, 2018 for the league’s 52nd title game.

“It’s like a dream come true,” he said. “It means a lot. This way the fan stays loyal through the thick and thin. You don’t lose faith, you just keep going.”
