Jets inside linebacker Darron Lee is ready to put last week behind him.

And who can blame him?

Lee, a second-year pro and former first-round draft pick, was suspended for Sunday's win over the Chiefs by coach Todd Bowles . Lee was allowed to watch the game from the sideline.

Lee's punishment stemmed from him arriving late to Saturday's walk-through practice. Lee had never previously been suspended by the Jets or the NFLduring his short career.

Lee acknowledged his mistake after Sunday's game, and now he is moving on from it. (Lee is not a repeat tardiness offender, like Jets defensive endMuhammad Wilkerson , who was benched for the first quarter of Chiefs-Jets, a source told NJ Advance Media.)

"Yeah, we won, man," he told NJ Advance Media on Monday. "There ain't nothing to be down about. I mean, who cares? This ain't about me. It's about the team."

But Lee said he did gain a new perspective, football-wise, from watching Chiefs-Jets from the sideline, rather than playing in the game.

"The side view, it helped me be able to judge what teams are going to do when we get to certain parts of the field," he said. "You know how as you're moving up and down the sideline [while watching from there]. I guess that helped me, just seeing how teams attack us when we get to a certain yard line.

"That's something for sure I definitely picked up on. Definitely seeing it now [from that perspective] just helps me put a good mental picture on it for me, for future reference. I guess from that perspective, it was a good little learning lesson for sure."

The Jets visit the Broncos on Sunday -- a chance for Lee to rebound in a big way from his one-game suspension. (Bowles said Lee will start Sunday.) But Lee isn't really looking at it like that.

"Just a regular week for me," he said. "Ain't nothing crazy."

Lee does not expect tardiness to be a problem for him going forward.

"It's not an issue or nothing," he said. "It's just, hey, made a mistake, the team won the game, and let's play Denver."
