Disagree the Pittsburgh TE did not have control of the ball same call that went against the Jets weeks ago.

Ball is NEVER shown touching the ground. Never. The call was wrong then and wrong today. INDISPUTABLE VIDEO EVIDENCE. its THEIR ******* rule, but they use it arbitrarily to **** over teams.

He caught the ball, put his knee down, moved across the goal, crossed the plain, and when the ball hit the ground it came lose; if Gronk did that it would be a TD. For the Jets, the ball came loose while he was crossing the goal (and then maintained it)....

It's the second time this garbage call was made, and the second time it was made in favor of the Patriots. That's proof right their that Roger Goodell and his boyfriend, Bob Kraft, are in cahoots.

He had control when he broke the plane. That was a bullsh*t call. Just another bullsh*t rule that has hurt this game. The hell with it.

Here you can clearly see the football just before it hits the turf.  roughly 1/3 of the ball is in front of his right hand, 1/3 is covered by the hand, and 1/3 sticks out to the left behind his hand.  In the second frame we can see the ball is rolling toward the camera (laces have changed position) because the butt of the ball has hit the turf.  The position of the right hand not only hasn't changed, but you can in fact see some turf between the right index finger and the ball (because the ball is not secure in EITHER hand).

I mean, that's not the rule, but ok.

Thats what its been since time out of mind. That rule needs to be changed as it is not only affecting the outcomes of games but it is changing playoff fortunes. It reminds of what Baseball did with the All-Star game when the outcome of that game decided home field. They changed that when they realized it was a mistake and the NFL should do the same.

HE HAD POSSESSION WHEN IT BROKE THE PLANE OF THE GOAL LINE. TD. THATS IT. END OF STORY. Everything else after that is bullsh*t.

I view that as a catch but you need to maintain possession until you complete the catch which includes hitting the ground, that didn't happen. I don't like the rule either.

I understand the damned rule but it is a bullsh*t rule that needs to be changed. You break the plane its a TD. Everything after that is moot. At least thats the way it was and thats the way it should be.

If that play happened in the end zone, he'd still need to maintain possession to the ground. Only way that's a catch is if they consider him a runner or made a football move, neither of those things happened.

We agree we hate the rule but you are wrong about the ball crossing the line as ending the play without first completing the catch.

He had control of the ball as he broke the plane... after he reaches out..breaks the plane the ball then hits the ground ..because you know..gravity and stuff..but that second part doesn’t matter as long as the plane was broken.

The catch wasn't completed though, he never became a runner or made a football move.
