Goodell earning that $50 Mil

Gen X Jet

I've said it before the thing that is killing the game is the rules and especially the catch rule.  No one has a clue what a catch is or is not, the rules are unfair in how they are interpreted, they are called inconsistently and you can never celebrate any play at all before the minute wait to see of it will stand.

That was a total BS call, the player was in total control when the ball broke the plain of the goal line.
An I don’t want Toad Haley anywhere near the Jets. You have Big Ben under center and you run the ball on your last possession. Knowing all along the Pats are stacking the box just waiting for the run. If I wanted to see that I could watch my Jets. He’s a freaking idiot, knowing he just needed to keep the ball out of Brady’s hands.
I never in my over 50 years of watching the game, seen a team get so many breaks and calls go there way.

The sad thing is the Patriots are a good team but the amount of added BS and blown calls that surround their games taints all of it and forever in my eyes leaves them with a giant * . I'm convinced there is a hierarchy of owners that control this game. It will be real interesting to see what happens now that the Rooney's got screwed, I bet there's a lot of backlash from this one and rules will change . Meanwhile when it happens to the Jets the media just makes jokes out of it.

Roger and the power owners better be careful the the once mighty NFL brand is starting to tarnish mightily and is currently one step or two ahead of the WWE. Add in all the off field  controversy ( kneeling/CTE/Domestic Violence) with the incompetence in calling fair games and this league is taking on water rapidly.

Look at the competition committee.

Count how many Super Bowls those franchises have since 2000.

what a completely disgusting call..  why was it not a TD as soon as it crossed the line????

He was going to the ground, not established as a runner.  In that case you need to maintain control throughout the process.

Lucky break for the Pats, but it was the correct call according to the rules.

A reciever going to the ground while attempting to make a catch must maintain control throughout the process. In this case, the ball hit the ground as the receiver was going to the ground, and he lost control of the ball for a moment. No catch.

The "broke the plane" argument is only relevant once the ball carrier is an established runner. In this case, the player never made the catch or officially had possession of the ball.
