Good read, proper breakdown.

My favorite part is what they say about the Jets: "Here's another team like Cleveland perpetually searching for answers at QB."

lmfao

Yup.

Cleveland and the Jets.  Right where we belong, hand in hand...two worst franchises in the NFL.

Do you think the potential of Deshon Kizer prevents the Browns from taking a QB?

Kizer sucks, why would Cleveland waste another opportunity to draft a savior QB? Not with John Dorsey at the helm they won't. It will be Rosen or Darnold to Cleveland at number one. The Giants will take the other guy at three leaving the Jets to decide if Mayfield or Allen is the guy they want.

hopefully the jets get at shot at one of the top 4. one thing that always strikes me about these articles is how kiper and mcshay can rank a qb like rosen or darnold the top qb prospect but not the top prospect in the draft.  given the importance of the position, the top qb, especially when they grade out like rosen or darnold should also be the top prospect in the draft.

Is it me or does Allen remind you of Hackenburg?

I think the notion of the QB with the raw skills who can be taught to succeed in the NFL is very flawed.  I would rather have a QB that was successful in college, so long as it was not a complete college system fluke.

Also Jake Locker, someone posted an article that mentioned Locker, and Damn right that is the comp. lets just hope like Locker , Allen stays in school another year

Denver and Bengals are ahead of the Jets right now.  If the Jets want one of those 4 they're going to have to trade up.

Giants will be picking 2 - if not someone moves up to the 2 spot...

Bengals?

Cincinnati Bengals
Projected draft pick: No. 8

AJ McCarron could be an Andy Dalton successor, but McCarron also could be an unrestricted free agent. If a new coaching staff wants to make changes in Cincinnati, Dalton could be on the outs, and the Bengals could be looking for other options.

_____________________________________________________________________

While they might not take a QB it'll be another team we'll have to jump to assure we get one of the top 4 - point is....It's highly unlikely the Jets get a top 4 without having to trade.  Sitting at 10 is simply not an option.

plus I want nothing to do with Allen.

Sounds like Darnold is staying in school. No way Rosen gets past the Giants or Browns (twice), so the Jets are realistically looking at Lamar Jackson and potentially Josh Allen. Given their track record with developing QBs, they shouldn’t even try to draft either. The bad news is that pick 10 is no-man’s land now because teams like the Colts, Niners, and possibly the Bengals will peel off pass rush and OL help, leaving the Jets looking at the third best rusher, or third best OT. Also means that we’re pretty much guaranteed to land Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith, which is Peak Jets. Consider that the Redskins would effectively be vacating the QB position if they let Cousins walk, and the Jets are going to act like they signed Aaron Rodgers anyway.

Mayfield measures 5' 11" 3/4 at the combine, Jets pass and draft a corner, Mayfield becomes franchise QB, Jets extend McCown

That's how you do it

If they had any balls, they’d scream “YOLO” and draft Mayfield. Alas, if they’ve demonstrated one thing at all in their three years here, it’s that they have no balls. Mayfield is going to interview like Johnny Drama, which will offend Bowles’ delicate sensibilities, and they’ll pass.

This is my nightmare scenario, which if Darnold does stay in school, is a very real possibility. Mac wants to trade up for Mayfield but Woody, while reviewing college game tape with Bowles via Skype from London, sees the crotch grab vs Kansas and says no way. We wind up with a corner in the first round and either AJ McCarron or Nick Foles at QB with McCown signed as "backup".

Has something new come out regarding Darnold's decision?

Won't have to wait for Mayfield to be measured at the Combine,

they will measure him at the SR bowl and release the info

yeah, I find it hard to believe Darnold doesn't come out - the number two pick - going to the well respected Giants.  It'll be hard to imagine a better situation for him.

What's the upside to staying? one draft spot?

Downside is tremendous- his stock continues to fall, injury,  end up on the other team in NY?

Maybe he took a long look into the mirror and realized, at best, he's the 5th best QB in the draft?

Even a better reason enter the draft and get paid, next year more teams may realize his bust potential - he will need to have a great season (not average) to improve his draft status - an average year (for a top pick) will hurt his draft status
