I know grasping at straws but maybe he has some insight since he is in NFL circles.

No my guess is he sorted by losses, anyone who's watched this Jets team would have to believe Bowles is returning. Whether or not he should is another question but even the constant Bowles haters would likely agree that his will be returning.

Only reason is because Chris Johnson has no spine and wants to be loved by the players. Any Jets fans watching Bowles bumble in game management wants him gone.

I'd say based on Woody Johnson's comments about judging this team on development instead of wins/losses. I think most negative fans would agree barring something out of left field Bowles job is safe for next season.

Unfortunately, Bowles still has a card up his sleeve. He will still remain here and next year will suck like this year.  Mac will pick defense in first round and then try to win on a flyer from the 3rd round on for a QB.

I think Met life's going to be very empty next season. The pitch forks will be out, and the Johnson's will have just given out 3 year extensions just to fire them both next New Year.

It makes no sence. Just fire them next Monday!

That's what i want for Xmas, Brady hurt in the game against us and McBowles fired the next day.  Fingers crossed.

Yes. Finished.

But the game will be rigged for NE as always. Or maybe they rig it for jets with Boston locking up fake HFA and bumping the Jets to the middle of the draft. Most likely scenario

I hear you, but it will take some mighty Rigging to let Petty Win a game, the boy is awful!

Not true. Bowles is a moron. He has no clue how to run an NFL team.

The Jets hold all of the cards here.  MacBowles can work next year without an extension.  They can give them one year extensions.

Really depends if other teams reach out to Bowles.  Could happen. No one is reaching out to Mac.

Possibly the best reason to keep Bowies is because the Jets job is the worst job in the league, tied with the Browns. You’d be stuck with the ninth best coaching candidate, maybe, with the upper tier guys not even taking Maccagnan’s call. A depleted roster filled with low-impact draft picks, and the tenth overall pick in a two-QB draft? Quite the sell.

Hell promoting John Morton to HC would be a major upgrade. These time management issues will come up if they ever get the playoffs.

I wonder what would do more for this franchise...

- putting all time and resources into landing a QB in an offseason with Cousins, maybe even Garapollo, and as many as three serious QB prospects

- yet another third year burn and turn to find the perfect coaches to draw up the perfect plays to create the most perfectest game plans that can be delivered through the most perfectly sequenced playcalls in the history of history thereby creating the perfect foozeball culture

?

I feel like there’s a whole lot less hocus pocus and bullsh*t involved in the first one.

What they need to do is finding themselves a QB, a pass rusher, and Theo Epsten. Mmmhnmmm

Now we know Chris Johnson?

We know him from his comments preseason setting the bar extremely low and reports of him hanging around trying to be buddies with the players. Star eyed newb who doesn't want to rock the boat until his big bro gets back.

How about his poor coaching, clock management, quitting, failure to make adjustments,bone-head game decisions..

He's not HC material and never will be.

Quitting? There is no quit in this team, they play everybody tough.  When you don't have a QB, you can't win! Look at the 49ers! Do you think Kyle Shanahan suddenly got smart? No, he now has a legitimate starting QB.

And if they do the first one and find out the real problem is still the 2nd one, they've wasted yet another year. Bring in a new Qb with a new coach and system and let them grow together

Bowles and Morton both QUIT on this team numerous times throughout the season the play calling and decision making here is something for the books.

When did they quit? The only two games they weren't competative were the 2nd half against the Raiders and the Broncos games.  Every other game they were in.

I agree with that , but when you don't play to win how do you expect to win. Even if we find a QB we'll be facing the same BS of trying to win games with TOP and defense, its what Bowles does, its in his DNA just like Rex and Herm and other glorified DC's before him. I hoped Bowles was different, I've given him the benefit of doubt for 2+ seasons , he's convinced me he's just like those others,

Can't you see that is Bowle's master plan , he knows he can keep games close with his defense. If he had some cajones and opened up the offense they might another game or two but and its a big BUT there would be games where the team would get blown out. Bowles doesn't want that perception associated with him especially as a defensive coach , its self preservation at its finest. I've said it before and I'll say it yet again. In the NFL you can't play timid and you can't coach timid.

I agree with you.  Bowles makes some "in game" decisions that are real head scratchers. I do believe he has gotten the defense to play tough.  They did a nice job in NO last week and against Rivers yesterday. I just feel it's hard to fairly judge a HC when he doesn't have a quality starting QB. In the last three years Bowles has had stopgap QBs who've had their moments but are not the answer.

We have no clue at this point what Chris is like, what his style will be.  To say he's spineless and wants to be buddies with players is total guesswork.

Oh God I sure hope so. I need my Sundays free to do other things and ignore this pathetic pike of elephant spooge every week.
