Petty is bad but the play calling and coaching all damn season long has been among the worst in the NFL.

Agreed.  They played things so conservatively with Petty in there.  The one thing that surprised me was that the Chargers weren't able to stop our running game better.  They should've overloaded the run and dared the Jets to beat them via the pass.  Some people are impressed with our 5 wins but the AFC is absolutely atrocious this year.

What pissed me off all year long Bowles/Morton was the 3rd down play selections, we needed long yardage and we threw for way less than we needed or ran that damn draw play.

Anyone who could be impressed with 5 wins is a loser.

The next day after Macagnan and Bowles play Hack they will both be fired

Macc should be fired for picking him and Bowles  fired for not playing him to properly evaluate him this season.

Inept quality GM and HC puts us where we are today in the basement of the AFC East.

I think we can all agree that this offseason we are going to hit the reset button at QB.  Whether that is going after Cousins and drafting a QB late to develop as the back up or are-signing McCown to compete with a high draft pick, I think both Petty and Hack should be released this March.

I was optimistic about Petty because of how he played the past two preseasons, but that ship has sailed.  And as bad as Petty is, if Hack can’t even warrant a look over Petty, then we are just wasting roster space.

Petty sucked, yes.

But in fairness, so did the Offensive Game Plan.

Petty's live arm + Our WR's + early success (nullified by BS OPI call).....and yet near on no deep passing game?

And really, take away the one great long run, and we're inept in all ways yesterday.

I truly believe that Hack will never play in a regular season game.  He's that bad.

Ok fair enough so our GM Mike Maccagnan in 3 years has assembled a roster full of sh*t QB's and we should not fire him for this?

The most important position on the team and in 3 years he has yet to improve the position all he did was bring in proven NFL loser QB's thinking the results would be different here. COME ON MAN

For this alone I cannot give Mike Maccagnan another year as GM of this team. NO WAY IN HELL

As bad as Petty has been - and he has been atrocious - to show Hackenberg to Jets fans and football fans across America would only serve to show how utterly bad the choice of Hack in the second round was. It would serve to embarrass Mac to the nth degree and he wouldn't suvive it.

And that's why they are scared to play Hackenberg.

I didn't think the gameplan was that bad. They took a few shots downfield, and Petty couldn't deliver.

He missed an open ASJ 2 or 3 times that would have been big gains. He didn't even see an open Kearse streaking, and he threw to the wrong shoulder in the endzone to Anderson.

To Bowles' credit, he surrendered much later in the game this week than he did vs Denver.   I mean he's only in his 3rd year as HC.  He'll eventually figure it out.

we need to draft 2 QB's, 2 OT's, 2 OG's and 1 RB

No he cant and he wont.  He rode Bruce Arians coat tails and had nothing to do with the little success in Arizona.

Conservative? Petty couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. He missed a wide open Seferian-Jenkins down the sideline and threw to the wrong side of Anderson on what should have been the game tying TD. He was inaccurate all game. Why not run, it was effective.

ASJ and others faces told a bigger story when they showed them on TV after missed and errant passes.

Heh, I was kidding.  A HC in his 3rd year who surrenders twice and is about to go 5-11 for the second straight year deserves nothing more than to be fired

What got me yesterday is they win the toss and defer. The Jets have the ball near the end of the 1st half 4th and 1 near their own 45 yard line and punt. Then after the getting the KO at halftime they run 3 straight plays and punt. Why defer the kick if you have no intention of building momentum on O. I believe Todd defers so he feels his vaunted D could score first .

The #1 trait of a horrible QB, and Petty is exactly that.
