Then be prepared to get no qualified candidates coming for the job.

Vehemently DISAGREE the NFL is a business there are only 32 NFL teams in the league there plenty of quality candidates that would welcome being the GM or HC of this organization and gladly accept the challenge of fixing the mess here, with Macc and Bowles you get excuses and repeat failure.

Yeah. What potential GM would want a top ten pick, some decent young talent, and 100 million dollars with very little in the way of expectations?

Exactly Carl anyone who keeps implying this logic is clueless. 32 NFL teams tough to get the gig as head coach and GM of any team.

Indeed.  We really need to rehire the guy who drafted Dedric Ward and Dorian Boose.

maybe not such a bad idea.  most fans have been talking about how the management structure is dysfunctional.  the tuna would be a good man to hold the coach and gm accountable.  just don't let him make the first round picks.

What potential GM could potentially be better than Mike Macagnan?

Absolutely loving the conditional tense here

The worst case scenario is we downgrade from a GM, head coach and coaching staff who have 0 playoff appearances, are 10-22 the last 2 seasons and have overall a worse roster than 3 years ago they inherited

Oh wait that’s impossible

You can’t fire Bowles and Macc. But you can hire a guy to run the franchise who can then fire Bowles and Macc.

The move we should have made was fire both these idiots and hire Coughlin last season too bad Jacksonville did that and all they have is the lousy playoffs to show for it

Agreed.  He was fast as hell and stretched the field. It helped that he had a QB that could get the ball to him as well.

If Vinny doesn’t tear his Achilles week 1 in 1999 Ward is probably a very important player on what was a Super Bowl contender

Agree 150% that was of course against NE, why wouldn't it have been LOL? One of the worst days of my football life.

Probably the worst injury I have ever endured to any player of any team I was ever a fan of.  We at the very least get to the Super Bowl that season

This guy gets it!

Two biggest things the Jets can do for themselves:

- Land a QB or two this offseason

- Hire a president of foozeball operations to give the ****s ownership can’t/won’t
