JetBlue
I think Allen goes to Denver and we know Darnold and Rosen will be lo gone before we pick. I personally would be okay if we take Mayfield, Rudolph or Jackson, even if it meant trading down a few spots . This is our best chance to draft a potential franchise quarterback, I truly hope MAC doesn't blow it.
Jet Nut
Is it a definite that we pick after Denver? We do have the same records with a week to go.
Pennington
Mayfield and its not even close. I wouldnt want to pick Rudolph or Jackson in any round but would be willing to do whatever it takes to move up to 3 to secure Mayfield.
Larz
I don't think Rudolph or Jackson are even remotely close to Mayfield. I fear Allen may be on maccagnans radar I may change my mind, but I think Mayfield is the pick if I'm GM

freestater
Mayfield. There's no way these idiots pick him, they'll half ass the qb position again next year. But Mayfield could be something special.
The Walrus
See some suggestions that Mayfield may not go until the 20s, others that we'll need to trade up to top 4 to get him. Big if, if we can't get the top 2 QBs then perfect scenario for me right now is trade down some spots and still acquire Mayfield plus a pick to be spent on Oline. If we need to head the other way and trade up, so be it. I'm still cautious about Mayfield after all the Johnny Football bluster a few years back. Mayfield could go either way, either fur coats on Broadway or fur coats keeping him warm in the CFL.
Mike135
Not sure yet. Though I've read Jackson is a taller right-handed Vick. If that's true, then definitely Jackson.

JetBlue
Rudolph vs. Mayfield. I know Mayfield gets all the hype but head to head Rudolph looked very impressive. I know it is just one game but Rudolph showed great touch and accuracy. Mayfield was also impressive but in this game at least, most of his targets were wide open. I like the way Rudolph fit his passes into smaller Windows.

Kid was very impressive on film and I think vs stock is going to rise after the Combine. He is a pure pocket passer with some mobility and very accurate passer with a good arm. (Love is deep ball). Finished as the all time passing leader at OK State.

Still if he is our pick I would be very excited to watch him play. He will be a match up nightmare.

Don't think we will need to trade up as one of them should be there at picks 6 - 8.

RESNewYork
Jackson Jackson Jackson Offensive playmaker the Jets have never had. Only player in this draft that has proven to score points with a limited supporting cast.

Sorry don't see the comparison at all. 6'5 Rudolph at worst will be a late first or 2nd round pick in a deep quarterback draft vs. 6'2 Petty who went fourth round in one of the weakest quarterback drafts in recent memory. What is it about them that you find the same or similar?

Lupz27
well only one of the 3 is a 1st round talent so it's a fairly easy answer Lamar Jackson. Mayfield is a 2-4th rounder think Landry Jones with an attitude to do the DX suck it to the opposing sideline on the occasions he actually drives the team down the field for a TD instead of a classy fist pump jog to the sidelines, or a go celebrate with the team in the endzone. Mason Ruduloph is already on the Jets, his name is Bryce Petty.
The Walrus
I think one thing most agree on is whoever we take they need to see action almost from the go. None of this sitting for 3 years while you learn. Not that we have a QB to sit behind anyway. Two years ago I was ok with sitting a QB, but now while there are no absolutes, I'm thinking if you are going to declare for the NFL draft then you better be ready to play and learn. Tony MaC
Either one of the Heisman winners will do. Rudolph's got a cannon on him but not only does it feel like his production is mostly the result of predetermined reads but his short and mid-range passes leave something to be desired. Feels like a project which means he is not what this team needs right now. The more I see of Jackson, the more I'd be okay with him in a Jets uniform. The knock on him is that he relies on his legs too much, but frankly he doesn't look all that uncomfortable in the pocket and his short range passes look accurate overall (if a bit slower than the other two here). He's a mobile QB for sure, but I think there's more upside to him as a passer than his rep says there is. Mayfield is the complete package of these three though, good vision, nice zip on the ball, accurate and more of a pocket passer. If the character issues prove to be blips on the radar I'll be happy to have him aboard. This is from one night watching all three on Draft Breakdown BTW, first I've really sat down and gave them all a look.
