Sarge4Tide
By my estimation, the Jets have 42 of the 53 players that will be on next year's opening day 53 man roster. This assumes we re-sign our top Unrestricted Free Agents McCown Sefarian-Jenkins Mike Pennel Kony Ealy Demario Davis Morris Claiborne Chandler Catazano With the cap space we have, we can probably sign all 7 of those without too much of a dent. Ealy might be the hardest to keep If we re-sign all 7 we have 42 players I feel good about for next year, meaning, of course, that we need to find 11 players this off season through the draft or free agency: Quarterback (Starting Quality) Running Back (Backup) Wide Receiver (Backup or Kick Returner) Offensive Lineman (Starting Quality) Offensive Lineman (Starting Quality) Offensive Lineman (Backup) Linebacker (Starting Quality OLB) Linebacker (Backup ILB) Cornerback (Starting Quality) Safety (Backup) Defensive Backup at DL, LB, or CB 2018 Opening Day Roster Quarterback - 3 15 - Josh McCown 6'4 218 Sam Houston State (FA Re-sign) 5 - Christian Hackenberg 6'4" 225 Penn State OR 9 - Bryce Petty 6'3" 230 Baylor XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) Running Back - 3 29 - Bilal Powell 5'11" 207 Louisville 25 - Elijah McGuire 5'10" 214 LA-Lafayette XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) Fullback - 1 44 - Lawrence Thomas 6'3" 286 Michigan State Tight End - 3 88 - Austin Seferian-Jenkins 6'5" 260 Washington (FA Re-sign) [2 players from: 83 - Eric Tomlinson 6'6" 263 UTEP / 85 - Neal Sterling 6'3" 257 Monmouth / 86 - Jordan Leggett 6'5" 258 Clemson] Wide Receiver - 6 11 - Robby Anderson 6'3" 190 Temple 10 - Jermaine Kearse 6'1" 205 Washington 81 - Quincy Enunwa 6'2" 225 Nebraska [2 players from: 18 - Ardarius Stewart 5'11" 204 Alabama / 16 - Chad Hansen 6'2" 202 Washington / 19 - Devin Smith 6'0" 196 Ohio State] XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) Offensive Line - 9 77 - James Carpenter 6'5 321 Alabama (G) 68 - Kelvin Beachum 6"3" 303 (T) SMU 72 - Brandon Shell 6'5" 325 South Carolina (T/G) 67 - Brian Winters 6'4" 320 (G) 71 - Ben Ijalana 6'4" 322 Villanova (T/G) 79 - Brent Qvale 6'7 315 Nebraska (G/T) OR 69 - Benjamin Braden 6'6" 335 Michigan (G/T) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) Defensive Line - 6 or 7 92 - Leonard Williams 6'5 300 USC (DE/DT) 99 - Steve McLendon 6'3" 310 Troy (DT) 98 - Mike Pennel 6'4" 332 Duke (DT) CSU-Pueblo (FA Re-sign) 94 - Kony Ealy 6'4" 275 Missouri (DE) (FA Re-sign) 75 - Xavier Cooper 6'4" 300 Washington State (DE/DT) 93 - Deon Simon 6'4" 330 Northwest St LA (DT) Linebacker - 8 or 9 48 - Jordan Jenkins 6'3" 259 Ohio State (OLB) 58 - Darron Lee 6'1" 235 Ohio State (ILB) 56 - Demario Davis 6'2" 248 Arkansas State (ILB) (FA Re-sign) 95 - Josh Martin 6'3" 245 Columbia (OLB) 50 - Freddie Bishop 6'4" 260 Western Michigan (OLB) 55 - Lorenzo Mauldin 6'4" 259 Louisville (OLB) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent ILB) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) Cornerback - 6 or 7 41 - Buster Skrine 5'9" 185 Tennessee-Chattanooga 21 - Morris Claiborne 5'11" 192 LSU (FA Re-sign) 36 - Rashard Robinson 6'2" 177 LSU 31 - Derrick Jones 6'2" 188 Mississippi 34 - Jeremy Clark 6'3" 220 Michigan XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) XX - NEW PLAYER at CB, OLB or DE (Draft or Free Agent) (Backup) Safety - 4 33 - Jamal Adams 6'0" 214 LSU 26 - Marcus Maye 6'0" 210 Florida 45 - Rontez Miles 6'1" 210 California (PA) XX - NEW PLAYER (Draft or Free Agent) SPECIAL TEAMS - 3 Punter - 1 4 - Lachlan Edwards 6'4" 215 Sam Houston State Kicker - 1 7 - Chandler Catanzaro 6"3" 200 Clemson Long Snapper - 1 42 - Thomas Hennessy 6'2" 246 Duke

nycdan
Maybe add one more CB to the mix and cut Skrine. We should also specify that we absolutely need a new Center next year as one of the OL starters.
Maxman
I would like to cut shaved even though he played well down the stretch. I also really hope that McCown retires. He isn't going to replicate last season they need to not fall into that trap of thinking he can even be a bridge.

Like when you get a new QB see if he has any center recommendations lol.

About the only guy that feels like he could be an upgrade from Johnson is the NYG guy - Richburg. He's no Mangold but he may be the only option out there. Ugly. The other choice is to hope we can get our mitts on Billy Price or maybe Ragnow with one of our 2nd rounders.

JohnnyLV
So much wrong with that, I do not know where to even start. We are way more than 11 players next year in terms of player turn over. We could easily have over 20 new players on the opening day roster.
LIJetsFan
We're not keeping both Petty and Hack. One is gone, probably Petty and his zero upside.
Barkus
We need to upgrade RB. Powell needs to split time with another solid back. McGuire is a 3rd down back-up type guy. Center needs a major upgrade Draft a guard to starting pushing carpenter and/or winters With enunwa coming back I think we can win the WR group we have as long as qb is decent and get contributions from RB and TE position in passing game.
