Grandy
What do y'all think was the best part about this season. Be it a certain player performing well, an amazing game, or nothing at all. Personally, it'd have to be either our 2nd game against the Bills (Defensive Dance Party), or seeing both Jamal Adams, and Marcus Maye bloom into an elite Saftey core. The Crimson King
There was a lot more good about this season than one would gather from reading the pages of this forum For me the highlight was the Thursday night Buffalo game. Great weather, great tailgate, great seats and a Jets thrashing. There was even a (very) rare quick ride home from NJ. The low point was not having season tix for the first time in 40 years All in all, the Jets kept most games entertaining, at least compared to last year. I count that as a successful season because after all, this is not life, just merely entertainment.
UnknownJetFan
The Play of the following for me: 1) ILB D. Lee much improved and seems to even have more of an upside. 2) SSOLB J. Jenkins expected to take thye next step and seemed to do just that. 3) RT Shell played conistent and well throughout the season. 4) Result of Richardson trade of WR Kearse playing well, a mid 2nd round pick, and shedding Richarson's 8M+ salary this year and his attitude as well. Jetsplayer21
Watching a qb be 1 of the team’s best players and leader. Instead of the weakest link. It showed what happened to this team after McCown went down. Night and day. If we had a decent line, not the worst rb core, a star receiver, this could have been a great offense. I don’t know how Bowles would react to the offense actually carrying his D. They were the better unit many games.

southparkcpa
This season just showed, without fail, how inept our management team really is. We have had 7 years in a row of poor drafting, poor player development and poor QB emphasis. Very little of what Ive seen from Bowles and MAC tell me this will change. MAC is a supposed football guy. Yet in 3 years we are no closer from having a QB than when he arrived. He rid us of old talent and now has cap space but Idzik did something very similar. Worth nothing when you draft Hack etc. Bowles just leaves you scratching your head. Bright spots? I stopped spending money on this team.

Look, I would love nothing more than to come here and write positive things about my Jets, but the god's honest truth is I cannot watch them anymore until such time as they get competent leadership on the field. There have been too many instances of conservativism, ineptness, apathy, surrender for me, as a senior gentleman, to put my blood and guts into anymore. Not tooting my horn at all, but I did sit in Shea Stadium in the 70's to watch them go 2-12 when they played 14 games freezing my arse I have grown immune to this already, I really have and refuse to watch crap, which is all this organization has purveyed since 2010-2011. The best part about this season was the END of the season until Wood(head) Johnson gives idiot Bowles a two year extension. Someone please tell me how much more improved the Jets were this year than last. Other than the locker room discord of last year this one was an instant replay with quitting, bad clock management, poor tackling, poor coverage by a supposedly improved secondary. I sure didn't see it, at least not enough to bring Bowles back. And how about Bryce Petty? Guy looked fantastic at Baylor and now can't complete a from-here-to-there pitch and catch. RichardTodd27
We went 5-11 with a horrible offensive line and an average 38 year old QB (probably the 2 most impactful areas on a football team). Use our 80 Million cap room to fix those problems and we should be competing for a playoff spot next year.

Mac can only get them here, he doesn't coach them and THAT is where Bowles and his staff is deficient. Petty has talent that has gone untapped because Bowles and his staff DO NOT know how to develop a QB. Much like Rex Ryan Bowles is offensively deficient and Petty's lack of development proves that. Players say Petty is a hard worker, one of the first to arrive and the last to leave and yet footwork (yes, footwork) is STILL his worst issue. Bad footwork leads to inaccuaracy and as we have all seen he has been woefully inaccurate. To blame Mac for this is shortsighted and inaccurate. I read the "Pre Draft" reports on Petty and many experts said he was a back up system guy, not NFL caliber on his own. He was thought to be a 2nd and fell to 4th round for that weakness. We should have developed him or let him fail last year and NOT brought back Fitz. Same with HACK. He cant play? Cut him. Coaching? GM? Ownership?? All the same to me here. We are not well run and not on same page in management.

Jetscode1
I enjoyed the continued youth movement and the bad actors shown the door. The good includes: Adams and Maye Demario Davis, Kearse and Claiborne all had turn around seasons and should be resigned. The further development of Robby Anderson. Powell and McGuire both showed flashes.

Petty might not be a good NFL QB. But remember Vinny Testaverde, a big deep arm threat, was also a bad fit for a West Coast/ 3 step drop /quick read dumpoff offense. Don't understand why coaches see a guy can do some things well and instead run an offense or call plays that actually work against a QB's talent, meager they may be. Also you don't help anyone when it's run/run/3rd and long all day. Not much guesswork to defending vs. the Jets offense. And you cannot really evaluate a QB when his passes are desperation 3rd and longs.
