Jets and Broncos looking to move up for a QB

Our extra second round pick will be critical to beat the Broncos. They are one spot above us but they have the 40th pick while we have the 37th and 49. We should be able to blow them out of the water not to mention if a next years pick is involved teams will speculate the Jets would be worse than the Broncos next year. Bottom line Maccagnon would have to be extraordinarily incompetent to lose to the Broncos in a trade up. Sheldon Richardson may have given us our franchise QB.

I was screaming from the beginning no reason to sign Mccown. How is a competition between Petty and Hack any different than the great Sanchez vs Kellen Clemens? Maccagnon ruined a perfectly timed tank now he has to waste a treasure of picks to rectify it.

Imagine if McCown wouldn't have gotten hurt.  We definitely would have won another game and not be in the 6th position to begin with.

Now imagine if he got hurt earlier in the season like he did every other year.

Cousins will be a Bronco and this will be a mute point.

HMMMM this is an interesting scenario....   Depends on who the Jets want......  I think if the Broncos go to 3.... Mayfield will be there at 6... Worst case scenario is we have to trade up to 4 with the Browns and not let Buffalo or Arizona jump us.... So Mac needs to have a deal in place with the Browns contingent on what the Broncos do... With that said lets let Free Agency play out... and see if the Giants let Manning walk and the Broncos sign him or trade for him. Cause if that happens you could see the Broncos Trade back with AZ or Buffalo and the Broncos take a Rudolph or Jackson and let the Browns, Giants and Jets take a QB in the top 6. My guess is the Browns take Rosen, Giants Darnold and Jets have their choice of Allen or Mayfield... Long way to go before the draft.... I guarantee the Jets will get one of those 4 guys, no matter what

Don't follow the Skins, but the Rosenberg guy on the Kay show is a big Skins fan and discussed this some today. Cousins has been tagged 2X, and the anger between Cousins and GM Bruce Allen and Daniel Snyder is very real. He is not going back to DC, and the Skins front office isn;t going to tag him again either.

I live in DC. This post is 100% correct.

two extra loses you douchebags. Glad we signed and started McCown

All we had to do was start Petty and Hack all year and we aren't even having this conversation about trading up. Good thing we won those 5 games and now have the choice of not getting a QB or trading a ton to move up. At this point just do whatever the hell it takes to move up and get one of the top 3 picks.

Cleveland or the Giants are not trading out of their top 2 spots anyway.  Both are QB needy teams.

What really sucks is we're likely going to have to trade to the 3 spot and give away a lot - just to get the 3rd best QB in the draft.

Just do it and at least get the third best QB. The time for waiting is over and we must draft a QB in the first round.

Depending on who they like, it wouldn't entirely shock me if Cleveland takes Barkley #1 to keep him from Indy while also figuring they can get their guy at QB at #4.

I'm not sure how much that changes things - even with Denver being out of play for a QB - it feels like we're going to have to move up to 3 anyway - just to block anyone else from doing so.

Would be great to sit back at 6 and take our QB - I just don't see it playing out that way.

Funny - as I'm writing this - I'm thinking I'm entirely wrong - just way too many variables right now to come up with anything coherent.  things will clear up as the free agency market plays out.

Cousins and Smith will decide all of this

Then the giants have to shore up the oline on free agency or I see them trading back into more oline friendly territory, but the colts are in the same boat

That notre dame guard will impact this as well

TheSkins fan who was posting in the other thread yesterday left this link.   Extremely informative on the Cousins situation.

If any of you guys want listen to hour 3 specifically when they have the agent on.

Interesting but it's a huge risk - I mean if Indy is holding the 3 pick and Darnold/Rosen are there - they will almost certainly trade out.  would love it if Cleveland made that move.  we can do whatever it takes.

It’s going to take a lot more than just a 2nd to move up. We won’t be getting a bargain that is for sure. The price is gonna hurt.

First manning is going nowhere but the Giants will pick a guy to develop

My gut has to be Cleveland can not play around whoever they think is the best QB they have to take in that one slot

Correct. Cleveland might be willing to trade the #4, but they're going to take the guy they think is the best QB. And right after than so will the Jints.

The colts are in a great spot.  I think they're almost certainly trading out.  That's the difficult part here - if we don't sign cousins we're almost certainly going to have to trade up to 3.

Wow this is huge news the Jets & Broncos MIGHT trade up to get a QB! Brilliant. At this time no one knows what the hell will happen until the free agent QBs sign.

Personally I think the Jets will be huge players in the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes. It's a known fact that Macc tried TWICE to trade for Cousins, that knowledgeable skin fan stated Cousins wants to go where he really feels wanted, he's getting paid regardless.

But the biggest clue to the Jets putting their aim on Cousins is the fact that Todd Bowles needs to save his job, keep this young team confident and looking forward to the 2018 season & he's not doing that by resigning McCown & you know we are never STARTING a rookie QB while Bowles is our coach.

Our 6th, 2nd and 3rd this yr. and our 2nd next yr. colts may take that.

Let the record show, I completely lost my sh*t when they signed McCown and forewarned that if these losers started him he would surely win 5-6 games for this dickface team. I'm basically the Kreskin of Jets fans.

Indy you would have to think will take Barkley if they stay there

Nobody is really talking about what the expectations are about Luck and his health. May be right now neither Luck himself nor the Colts really know either.

That does probably get it done - except if Buffalo comes in and offers both of their 1's...and their 2.

I think it's going to take both of our 2's.  Feels like..the 6 pick and 2 2's at the top of the 2nd round is better than to bottom 3rd 1's...

See, it gets really tricky though - not going to be cheap.
