Non-first round prospects we may acknowledge by April.

Isaiah Wynn G/C - No clue what it is but my GUT feels that this guy is a badass prospect. Played LT for Georgia this year. Round 2

Rashaad Penny RB - Lead CFB in rushing with over 2000 yards while scoring 25 TDs. Ultimate ceiling will be determined by contributions to the passing game. 3rd or later

Tyrell Crosby OT - Arguably the most physical LT prospect in the draft. Lost most of 2016 to iniury, otherwise he is probably one of the top 3 OT prospects with ND Guy and Williams. Round 2

RB from Washington - Gilkens? Anyway he is a smaller back that has headlined since he was a freshman and has caught 7 TDs in 38 receptions over the past two years. 4th or later

Austin Corbett OL - Longtime starter at T, imvited to Senior Bowl as a C.

Marquis Haynes OLB - All time sacks and TFL leader at Ole Miss. Undersized. 5th or later

Sione Teuhema OLB

Marcus Davenport DE/LB - These pass rushers will separate at the combine. I also like Owosu from USC.

Kameron Kelly CB - Might be the largest CB in the draft, potential outstanding athlete. Deion Harris might be there too, same school as Carson Wentz

There’s a OT from UNC I think could make for a developmental OT prospect.

There’s depth at TE. Cam Serigne caught 8 TDs in just 39 receptions for Wake Forest.

From what I've been reading about Davenport he's going to "skyrocket" during the

pre-draft process

sh*t yeah, thought he was a liiiiiiittttttle more on the low. He does seem to have alot going for him - rewrote some records at his school and has an ideal frame (6’6” 250).

Good post, nice work

yeah sadly the secret is out on Davenport

add Jaylen Samuels into the mix as a terrific 3 down fullback

I don’t see us going WR but DJ Moore and Jaleel Scott should be on your radar

the Washington RB you are alluding to: Myles Gaskin? Thought he was a bigger back

we must must must draft at least one impact edge rusher. If Davemport or Harold Landry are out of reach then maybe a guy like Jovon Rolland-Jones and I really like Hercules Mata’afa(WSU)

I see Davenport getting love by the week, i think he's a fringe 1 guy. Which is too bad. He could have made a nice target in rnd 2

Otherwise nice list, some people i don't know well there.

I'll throw a few in;

WR EQ St-Brown... I suppose he could turn into a combine darling, but otherwise he's a good 2/3 target for us.

WR Anthony Miller -- Landry 2.0

WR J, Scott - another big bodied jump artist i like

Realizing now how little i've thought about defense.. Here are some names i've read about, and like what i saw from brief clips.. all long shots.

OT Brandon Parker & OG Skyler Phillips

CB Danny Johnson & Siran Neal

Parker's probably the hottest name on there, and tough to find much beyond scant youtube clips.

Good list, Anthony Miller is one of those guys I can see ending up like Antonio Brown

OT Martinas Rankin, Mississippi State....If we don’t go Mike McGlinchey in Rd 1 Rankin could be a good option in Rd 2, think he might rise to be a late first search second guy.

heard a lot of good things about Brandon Parker

OG Will Hernandez too is a name to keep an eye on. All the talk will be about Quentin Nelson but Hernandez is an underrated road-grader

‘Also Justin Lawler, edge rusher SMU...intriguing high-motor guy who could be a an effective OLB

Agreed on Will Hernandez the G...

Some others:

Tyler Conklin TE - 11 TDs in 77 receptions between 2016-2017. Invited to the Senior Bowl.

Jaylen Samuels - 5’11 TE from NC State that also played RB and WR. 47 amateur career TDs both recieving and rushing, including 16 in 152 touches this year. Blocks like a muh too. Delanie Walker? 4th or later

The Auburn K is very draftable. Last year’s K wasn’t terrible or anything but I think Auburn K has a shot at that Crosby/Gostowski level of K prospect.

If Jaylen Samuels is available in the 4th that’s an out and out heist .....special talent at fullback

RB Akrum Wadley - Iowa

Needs to add some weight and strength, but this guy got some moves in the open field.  Won't be a featured back, but could be a nice complementary piece.  Projected anywhere between the 2nd and 5th rounds but think he ends up being taken in the 3rd or 4th as a 3rd down back.

WR Equanimeous St Brown - Notre Dame

Could be a 1st rounder (size, speed, athletic ability, great hands, superb route-running) but production was not there this year.

ILB Leighton Vander Esch - Boise State

Great production, need to see how he tests during the combine.

I’m waiting patiently to call him the best pure LB in the draft. Another guy who could fly up...

Some others:

Mike Gesicki - Top TE and top 5 pass catcher? Possibly

Aaron Stinnie - If there’s an OT prospect that tests like a freak it might be him (also might not be!). If he does then he becomes a serious late round developmental prospect.

Zach Crabtree OT - Played in a fairly complex offense with tons of experience at RT. Maybe a LG?

Former TE turned OT Brian O’Neill out of Pitt is expected to do some work at the combine includng running a 4.7-4.8 at 300+. I said the only way I’m interested in an OT at 6 is if there’s a freak Lane Johnson-esque athlete. Obviously it’s PFF so take for what it’s worth but they had him as the top pass protecter in CFFB for 2017 or something...

I really like O'Neill... I mean I'm no expert and I need to watch and read more on him, but right now he's my top OL guy even over everyone except  Mike McGlinchey...

I like tht O'Neill has gotten steadily better and I like that he can slide in and play guard if needed.

I think he's the type of player that has a 12 year career as a solid, quiet, dependable tackle. He may not have the stats or be a complete game changer like McGlinchey but he just strikes me as a guy who would be a constant presence on that line. He would be like that old reliable pickup truck your grandfather drove for 50 years. Just gets the job done.

My hot take on ND LT is he is wildly overstated. Too stiff and slow. Honestly I’m not big on either ND OL for where they are being mocked.

Some interesting names. I’d forgotten about Ja’Von Rolland-Jones, he should be added to the pass rushers thread. Also really like Ian Thomas the TE and Lorenzo Carter. Anthony Miller is a stud also, kind of gets forgotten about but he’ll make some team very happy IMO

You are partial to a tight end aren’t you?

I'm always partial to a TE... until we can field a proper 12 personnel, then i'll always bang the table. Personally, I believe that to be the most effective formations an offense can run. If you get the right Y and Flex TEs in place, it's domination!

Your thoughts on Ian Thomas as a mid-round pick?

  • Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta was the best quarterback on the field for the South Team Wednesday. After a few misses early, his quick, compact release allowed him to fit the ball into some tight windows. During a red-zone drill, Lauletta squeezed a pass between defenders to Marcell Atleman on a slant for a score. He also made a nice anticipation throw over a linebacker on a dig route to LSUwideout D.J. Chark.

A mid round local kid that is intriguing is Kemoko Turay from Rutgers. I don't think he has the play strength to be a full time 3-4 OLB, but he could make a nice living as a pass rushing specialist. He could come in for Jenkins on passing downs since Jenkins offers virtually nothing as a pass rusher.

He also missed parts of two seasons with shoulder surgeries.  He did generate his share of positive buzz at practice yesterday, but the two shoulder surgeries scare me.

Quick kicker note: Daniel Carlson has displayed quite the boot here in Mobile. The Auburn product on Thursday continued his strong week by nailing a 58-yard field goal, which cleared the goal posts with plenty of room, for a second straight day. Carlson leaves Auburn holding 14 school kicking records, and was the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year for a second straight season in 2017, as the All-American hit 69 career field goals, made 141 consecutive PATs (the second-best in SEC history) and finished fourth in SEC history with an 83.1 career field goal percentage.
