offensive coaches vs defensive coaches

okay, in the playoffs the offensive minded coach of the bills got beaten by the defensive minded coach or the jags and the offensive minded coach of the rams got beaten by the defense minded coach of the falcons.  so i guess that proves the jets need an offensive minded coach to succeed.  right.

The Bills coach is a defensive guy, was the Panther’s defensive coordinator last year.  The Jacksonville coach, Marrone, was an offensive line coach and also an offensive coordinator.  You got those two backwards.

Truly brilliant thoughts with great examples.

Using a game with Tyrod and Bortles at QB.  And dumping on McVay after the year Goff and his offense just had.

An offensive coach is better for a young QB.  Do us a favor and stick a puck in it rangerous.

you apparently got my point.  one of the criticisms launched at the jets is their preponderance of defensive minded head coaches and here are two example (among many) that offensive coaches aren't the panacea that some people think.

The defense minded Atlanta gave up 3 td lead to lose Super Bowl last yr? Rex Ryan got us to the afc championships but couldn’t win 1.. We need a coach who does not hold back the offense/OC , and lets the gm draft O. Todd Bowles just needs to stay out of the way with O. He needs to stop being such a vagina too .

Except of course your examples are wrong!  I agree with the concept but your examples don’t help you.

The best formula has been defensive coach with pro bowl QB

Offensive coaches will be popular this off season with what is happening in Philly, and if you were a QB even better

Watching games recently you need a star QB the league feels is a ratings draw as well to get the calls

People get far too caught up in offensive minded HC vs. defensive minded HC.  Belichick was a D coach and has won w/ offense in NE, remember Brian Billick? offensive HC won w/ '00 Ravens D, same w/ Gruden in TB in '02.  Coughlin was an offensive coach and won 2 SBs w/ D, Kubiak O coach won w/ D in Denver, ...

The most important thing isn't O or D minded Head Coach it's bringing in the right staff, if you are O minded bringing in a great defensive mind and vice versa.
