Any sleepers on the current roster?

They drafted two CBs in Jeremy Clark and former WR Derrick Jones with some size (both are 6’2”+ IIRC). Jones is a freak athlete who posted a 41” vert and 11’8” broad jump at his pro day and seemed pretty well liked for an outright project. Quick check...Neither took a defensive snap in 2017 and both saw very little action on STs so already off to a great start!

Anyone on offense? Leggett? Did Hansen show anything? Does anyone believe in Elijah McGuire?

Jeremy Clark or Jeremy Jones > Revis

Who knows. Last yr would have been the time to take a look at them, but Todd Bowles was playing for the Moral victory Super Bowl and felt achievement by keeping the jets from getting blown out. Sterling looked great, he only got a chance due to injury.

Chad Hansen has flashed and I think he has the size and hands to play on the outside or inside. He’s a little like Eric Decker in that sense.

I watched Derrick Jones A LOT and have even spoken to him a few times when I took trips up to Ole Miss to visit my old high school buddy, Markell Pack. Jones is a beast of an athlete and a really cool dude..seems like he’s easily teachable but he needs to polish up and he should continue to do so in the NFL. I like his ability. We’ll see if he can take a few steps forward

I think Stewart will turn out pretty good next year. I didn't see anything this year that made me say "WOW" but for some reason I still think he'll be good.

If we can somehow get Cousins all of these WRs will benefit. With a decent QB your head better be on a swivel or you'll get a ball lodged in your facemask. Better QBs can make some WRs great, and expose bad WRs that don't make clutch catches or don't run proper routes.

Sooooooo - there’s that JN magic at work again - Bowles both cost himself because he failed to properly evaluate the 6th and 7th round CBs last year due just to avoid the blowouts playing these players would have created due to sucking? That is pretty air tight. I think Sterling was the oldest TE they played last year, but don’t let that get in the way...

I feel like I heard Josh Martin’s name often enough among the LBs. What kind of year did Jenkins have? Seemed quiet but that may not be a bad thing as much as it isn’t a great thing?

you don’t think it would have been good to hackenberg play a game? Was petty that good he had to start ? Lol. I don’t understand the logic. Especially after Todd Bowles answering the question as to why he didn’t play him. “ well we don’t know if he can play or not” no sh*t Sherlock. When you are long gone out of the playoff race, why don’t you find out? I would have gave hensen and the other younger WRs some more targets. Instead of trucking the old beat up forte out there every week, let McGuire have more touches. Then you go into the draft with a better understand what you need on the draft. You are at least doing some productive With a lost season. But no, Bowles was going for the moral victories over auditions for 2018

I honestly could not care less if Hackenberg throws an NFL pass. Did they *really* need to confirm Hansen’s legitimacy in 2017 as two different cheap Jets WRs 25 and under put up top 50 seasons at WR this season? McGuire had 6.5 offensive touches a game plus ST snaps. Plus needs are very clear! Passer, pass rusher or stud CB eventually both, RB, TE, C, and more depth everywhere.

So you don’t think It would have been nice to see if Sterling playing well was a fluke or he was just hidden on Todd Bowles bench unnoticed ?

You’re complaining about Bowles not playing young players while also complaining he didn’t play the oldest TE enough!

Going into 2017 - who would you say had more perceived upside between ASJ and Sterling? ASJ! Who between Sterling and Tomlinson? You probably didn’t know either existed or were Jets! He played the younger players, what you’re criticizing Bowles for!

ASJ just wasn't that good in 2017 no reason to throw big money at him, we are good with Leggett,Sterling and Tomlinson if need be.

Lol. No I was referring to bench players, not all bench players are young. Age doesn’t matter to me, if a guy is on our bench and he is going to be here next yr, this yr  is the time to play him ! You can’t admit we would not even have noticed sterling had Jenkins not got hurt. It took a injury for Todd Bowles to see what we had in him. Otherwise he never plays, and we go on the word of Todd Bowles he is not good enough to play. That is just 1 of the many examples why Todd Bowles will never be a very good coach. You Bowles die Harders make me laugh ha

So you’re mad he didn’t play the bench of a bad team more often?!? That’s actually more ridiculous. Do you even think this Sterling guy is a good player?

He looked dam good for the little time he got to play. You don’t agree ? It’s unfortunate we didn’t get to see more of him to put it to the test. Jenkins may not sign back. What good did it do to play Jenkins, a established player who is going to be a FA, over a bench played we didn’t know much about ?  So you agree going for moral victories is more important than seeing if we have any good players hiding on bench? That is the only advantage of being terrible. Play your bench and hope you find a diamond in the rough ? Not if your Todd Bowles. Any other coach would.
