SenorGato
Cuts: Wilkerson Forte Powell Ijalna Cap: ~$110 million Resign w/ cap hit in parentheses: Kicker (2), Enunwa (4) FA with 2018 cap hit in parentheses: Kirk Cousins (36) Le’veon Bell (18) Ryan Jensen (12) EJ Gaines (13) Trey Burton (10) Cap: ~$15 million Draft: 1: Marcus Davenport - My pick for the biggest riser at the Senior Bowl, but really a stand in for “pass rusher that blows up the combine.” Jets should get their pick of the litter among the pass rushers. (Browns go QB and CB, Colts take Barkley) 2: Tyrell Crosby - I really feel like a top OT will get Marcus McNeilled and Crosby is the top candidate. 2: Isaiah Wynn IOL / Will Hernandez RG 3: Rashaad Penny RB - The Michael Turner to Bell’s LT 4: Mason Rudolph QB 5: Mike Gesicki TE 6: Bentley Spain OT 7: Baugh TE Depth: QB: Cousins, Rudolph, Petty/Hackenberg Weaponz: Bell, Anderson, Kearse, Burton, Penny, Enunwa, McGuire, Hansen, Stewart OT: Beachum, Crosby, Shell, Spain OG: Carpenter, Winters, Wynn/Hernandez, Shell, Spain C: Jensen, Wynn Defense - Don’t really care
jetspenguin
We will sign Cousins- whether I like it or not Draft Barkley at 6- Darnold, Rosen, McGlinchey (to protect Luck), Ridley (a toy for Darnold), Allen and Barkley to the Jets at 6. (You heard it here first) Sign Jensen- or Cousins wont come here Sign Trumain Johnson- (to an ungodly amount of money) Gaines is too short with all the shorties we already have back there. Resign Clairborne- which they have no choice or we will always be one guy short back there Sign Cyrus Kouandjio- You remember him right? He is the guy who was "taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation after scaling a fence half-naked and reportedly telling police officers to ‘shoot him" It's the Jetsy thing to do. Sign DeMarcus Lawrence- To replace Mo on the DLine Hack will back up Cousins, Petty will be cut They will try to resign Seferian-Jenkins but Trey Burton isnt a bad consolation prize when/if he goes to Seattle instead of resigning. Gesicki will go much higher than 5th, probably 2-3.

I could not resist Cap: ~$15 million Draft: 1: Marcus Davenport OLB - My pick for the biggest riser at the Senior Bowl, but really a stand in for “pass rusher that blows up the combine.” Jets should get their pick of the litter among the pass rushers. He will go higher than 5th. 3: Luke Falk QB - better prospect, IMO, than Rudolph 4. Rashaad Penny RB - The Michael Turner to Bell’s LT he or someone similar will be available in the 4th. I took Luke Falk with that 3rd round pick because I think he's gone before the fourth round. 5: Uchenna Nwosu LB - He may be gone at this point, but we could use him or a poor man's version at LB. We should probably also consider going DE at this point because our line will be lean at this point. 6: Bentley Spain OT 7: Baugh TE Depth: QB: Cousins, Falk, Petty/Hackenberg Weaponz: Lewis, Robinson, Anderson, Kearse, Burton, Penny, Enunwa, McGuire, Hansen, Stewart OT: Beachum, Crosby, Shell, Spain OG: Carpenter, Winters, Shell, Spain C: Jensen Defense - I like yours alot. I put in green the changes I would make, along with reasoning.
SenorGato
I like Dion Lewis but paying him $11 million to pass on a better player in Bell and resign a LB from the 2017 roster doesn’t do it for me. Lewis is 28 next year too and coming off a career year. I’d love for him to replace Powell, but giving him a $10 million dollar raise and multiple years seems a bit much. Not big on Falk who comes pre-injured to boot, though moving the RB pick to 4 makes sense. Agreed on Gesicki - probably the best TE prospect in the draft - and reeeeeeealllly ljike Nwosu

Truth is I would sign on for Bell at 15M. Additionally, I’d guess Lewis will be cheaper than 11M. He does have injury history and the age you mentioned. But he has next to 0 wear as far as carries. Less than 400 in career!! I’ll keep Lewis and bump him down to a more likely 8M/yr. Falk looks good to me personally and I don’t mind the wrist fracture. I like Nwosu and he is a big part of the reason I’d be cool with a trade down in the first to get us another 2nd round pick (and possibly third rounder). I typically imagine trading with AZ for their picks 1-3. I’d go nuts for: FA: Enunwa. Claiborne. Cousins. Lewis. Gaines. Burton. Jensen. Robinson. (~100M) DRAFT: 1. Christian Kirk-WR 2. Rashaan Evans -LB 2. Turkey Crosby -OT 2. Mike Gesicki -TE 3. Uchenna Nwosu -LB 3. Luke Falk-QB 4. Rashaad Penny - RB 5-7: Oline & Dline projects. ?? QB:Cousins/Falk/Hack RB:Lewis/Penny/McGuire WR:Robinson/Kearse/Anderson/Kirk/Hansen/Stewart/Enunwa (someone might get cut) TE:Gesicki/Burton/Leggett OT: Beachum/Shell/Crosby/ OG: Winters/Carpenter/laterounder C: Jensen ... SenorGato
Some tweaks based on feedback: Same cuts and two resignings FAs: Cousins QB (36) Bell RB (18) Jensen C (10) Burton TE (8) - Probably overshot both these guys a little bit in the first post. Both are one year starters who were not high picks, neither made even $2 million last year. The dynamics of the CBA and lots of money available to spend around the league may still get both 8 figure salaries but I doubt it thanks to the NFL’s ability to totally not collude. Chris Hubbard RT (6) - Swiss army OL that can start at RT for Los Yets. EJ Gaines CB (7) Total spending in 2018: $85 million Draft is where the big changes are: 1: Still the freak pass rusher, but I am open to DB and obviously QB in this scenario 2: Rashaan Evans - Doubling up on LBs! *Gruden impression* I think this guy is the next Karlos Dansby. 2: Mike Gesicki TE- I do agree he will move up fast these next three months. 3: Bryce Love RB/WR - The forgotten stud among the RBs, possibly because he also catches passes. Great compliment to Bell thanks to his speed. 4: Jaylen Samuels FB/RB/TE - Another swiss army knife to help both run and pass. 5: Alex Cappa OT 6: Aaron Stinnie OT - Former DE at Duke before tranferring to James Madison. Premium athlete for OT. 7: Mason Hampton C - Boise’s another one of those It’s pretty beautiful.
