Report: Josh McDaniels Expected To Be Next Head Coach Of Colts

McDaniels will reportedly take Indianapolis’ offer as soon as it comes, which cannot happen until after the Patriots wrap up their postseason run. New England will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The #Colts have held strong with their pursuit of #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels and that is expected to be his choice when an offer comes, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

The Titans parted ways with head coach Mike Mularkey on Monday morningand were reportedly interested in chatting with McDaniels about becoming their head coach. But Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that McDaniels will pick the Colts when the time comes to make a decision.

It looks like the Patriots will lose both of Bill Belichick’s coordinators this year, as defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is expected to take over as head coach of the Detroit Lions when the season ends.

Former Patriots’ OC Josh McDaniels officially accepted the head-coaching position of the Indianapolis Colts.

Patriots’ assistant QB coach Jerry Schuplinski is expected to join Josh McDaniels’ staff in Indianapolis, per source. Also means Patriots’ WR coach Chad O’Shea is in play to become New England’s OC.

If the Jets are interested in trading up to three, this is probably the biggest impediment to getting that done. That and Mac's general inability to trade up.

Slats .. lol the GM isn’t going to let the new HC hire stop him from pulling the trigger on a good deal. That simple. What’s gonna happen if he says something?

Colts GM: Jets have thrown an interesting trade proposal my way...think I’m going to accept.

McDaniels: NU UH. You can’t do that because they were my arch rivals when I was with the Patriots. That would be stoopid! Why would we give the Jets a QB.

Colts GM: ....... I’m sorry, by the sounds of your reply it seems like you are confused what team you work for now. We don’t give a sh*t about the Jets. We don’t play them enough to give a sh*t about the Jets. They are not the Texans, Jaguars or Titans.

McDaniels: My hatred will not allow this.

Colts GM: But my job position will .. GTFO.

I’d do a heat check to see if Mcdaniels has learned anything from his Broncos fiasco. Call him up and offer our whole draft for Luck.

Why do you say that?  I would think McDaniel got positive news on Andrew Luck, no?

The only team Bill Belichick has never traded with is the Jets. I don't he'd like it if Josh did. The good news is that Josh probably wouldn't want to trade with Denver, either.

The whole spite thingy?  haha.  I'm just thinking Joshy probably didnt take that job without some reassurance that Luck is good to go.
