Hello Bates?  Yeah the other 4 guys turned us down, you were our 1st choice all the time though......

Wasnt it rumored that they offered it to him and he turned them down?

The Jets are expected to promote QBs coach Jeremy Bates to offensive coordinator, as @AdamSchefter said. Bates was the favorite from the moment John Morton was fired last week.

This could be Todd Bowles last season as head coach and he’s rolling the dice on offense with someone with very little coordinator experience. He seems like he did an okay job with McCown, but he didn’t do much to further the careers of the young players. Should probably just go nuclear on the staff and front office. Would be better off that way.

Agree Carl Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan keep it real by hiring more morons not hiring smarter coaches who make them look bad.

well, if there's good news, it's that we may finally have the opportunity to root for a young qb again, unless they get cousins, in which case we get a semi-young qb.

The comparisons of Allen to Hackenberg seem correct but yet Hackenberg was not a first round pick and Allen will be. Why is that? There's something there that is different.

They're here for at least two more years my friend. Enjoy the ride.

Doesn't this team need an established OC that can nurture a young offense (and presumably a young QB) along as opposed to giving a relative newbie (Seattle OC in 2010) a shot to learn on the job?  Not sure this was the best way to go.

I dont think it makes much of a difference to be honest.

They’ll draft Allen and sign Bridgewater.  Allen will look horrible in TC and preseason so forget about seeing a young qb until Bridgewater leg falls off by week 4
