SenorGato
They’re crazy useful. Some huge areas they really have helped demystify in the draft are QBs and pass rushers. They’re a great way to ID players who do things that help win games. Why the general disdain?

Because sashi brown butchered it so now all the old school guys can act like it isn't real. Meanwhile, just about every MLB, NBA and NHL team use it religiously. nycdan
I think analytics are like guns. Really useful in the right hands. Not so much in the other kind. Too many people only like analytics that support their pre-determined argument so they cherry-pick.
Jack Straw
Our GM has outsmarted all the analytics people by only drafting players who play positions where traditional statistics don't do a good job of measuring performance. If you only draft players whose performance can't be measured by traditional KPI's like touchdowns, yards, interceptions, or sacks, you can never have a bad pick. It's genius, really. Now we can measure our players' impact with impossibly quantifiable qualities like "heart" and "work ethic" and "leadership."
