Allen Robinson and Kirk to Cleveland?

I wouldn’t put too much stock into Ochocinco. Especially on February 1st bro...

i don’t even think Cousins has an idea of where he wants to go at this very moment. It’s so early in the process and you consider that with the fact Chad Ochocinco out of all people feels he has the “scoop”..? Yeah I wouldn’t count on it.

This means very little to me haha but there is not much activity at 4 in the morning. I can see a situation where Kirk goes to the Browns and I'd love that because we have more ammo than anyone in the draft to move up to that #1 or #3 slot to land the 1st or 2nd QB depending on if the Browns want to trade out or take Barkley.

Honestly with Coleman, and hopefully a clean Gordon, add Duke Johnson, then the young talent on D, 2 picks in the top 4 to say get a Barkley, and maybe trade back for Nelson, and maybe have 3 more 2nd rounders for 2 OL, and maybe gamble on a Lauletta in case Cousins flops, or if he doesn’t you have future trade equity, either way it’s a win if Lauletta pans out just a little, then Browns don’t look so bad, now throw Arob and maybe 3-4 more impact FA’s with the 120 million they have, things COULD turn quickly.  Garrett, Peppers, Collins are a good foundation on D, sign a CB 1, and maybe a decent Safety talking Jags type of turnaround.  Oh yeah and they can trade us pick 1 so we can land Darnold!!!!!!!!

the other teams know the jets are sitting on a pile of cap money and need a qb.  cleveland is about the only team with a similar pile of cap space so it's kind of natural that the jets will be setting the price entry point. but cleveland also has thse two first rounders which they can parlay for additional picks assuming they do sign cousins.  it's going to be interesting.  and there's stil the chance the redskins will franchise the guy.

Why would they franchise him? They can’t pay Alex Smith and Cousins. If a tag and trade falls through then they are ****ed.

If Cleveland sign Kirk all bets are off for the #1 pick. Even Cleveland won't sign Cousins, then Draft a QB who's going sit for 5 years because they are paying Kirk $30 mill per.

More QB's may drop..

then they will trade the pick. there will still be someone picking a QB ahead of them--unless they cough up picks.

something i read that they can franchise him and then trade him.  if he walks they'll get a top compensatory pick.  they may do better with a trade.  i'm not sure if they're stuck with him if they franchise and then cut him if they can't work out a deal.

Cleveland would clearly trade out of the #1 pick and accumulate other picks.  It actually would be a pretty smart move on their part.

Hm. He says he's just a B level Qb and no need to sign him and then asks how do we elevate the pieces we already have like Powell and that we lost a few games just off bad QB play..........uhh.

Ha. Ya unfortunately a A tier guys don’t go to FA, even the Bs hardly do. So ya cousins is over hyped. Surprised he didn’t say we lost a good amount of games simply because we have a poor line. Being he was a lineman and all he should understand.

if they  franchise him looking to trade him, every GM and their brother know they would have to cut him because

they can't pay both smith and cousins.  they would just wait him out.  besides cousins would have to sign the contract

and would he give up all of his leverage?

If Washington slapped Cousins with a franchise tag, Cousins would immediately sign it and start the negotiation for his 2018 salary at $32M. Washington would have that much less room to maneuver in free agency, and the rest of the league would play straight hardball with them knowing they really wanted to move on. They're not a well-run organization, but I can't imagine them volunteering for that level of cluster****.

I could see Cleveland standing pat and taking the Barkley/Chubb they like and then maybe taking the other one at #4. They're already in a position where they have too many high picks, and it's going to be hard to resign them all to second contracts. Love trading down and adding picks, but they've maybe overdone it.

I doubt the Jets will want to give up second rounders or future first rounders to move to number 1. Even if the Giants take Darnold the Jets would still have a good shot at Rosen, Mayfield or Josh Allen.

It's possible they'll use the picks but I don't buy into the whole "they'll have too many guys on their 2nd contract at the same time" argument.  Having too many assets should not be considered a problem.  Belichick did it for years (seemingly always trading down and acquiring extra picks the following year) and was successful.  The "miss rate" is too high in the NFL to worry about having too many good players.

I'm leery of Robinson he hasn't been good for two years, major injury last year and flat out sucked the year before.  (I know this because i picked him for my fantasy team  the year before last.  )

Thank you for noticing.

He's really only had 1 great year (his second I believe), and clearly caught defenses off guard. I do think he's a natural at the position, but when teams started game-planning against, things got a little quiet on the ARob front... bortles wasn't helping either.
