I've seen the Pats catch teams out time and again with trick plays. It's was very sweet to see them on the receiving end today.

I've heard that many Patsie players like being on the receiving end. :D

Knowing that Nick Foles' catch might have been the turning point of the game has to be sitting well with Brady today.  One could almost feel bad for him... :D

I laughed after that Eagles play.  It seriously just felt like a big f-you to the Pats/Brady, showing them how you do that.

The fact that Bill took the ball out of the GOAT QB hands, had him expose himself as a receiver, when he was playing great football tells you everything you need to know about how good a coach B.B. really is.

Brady is the lynchpin to it all.

Well, he was wide open...

Nick Foles caught a game changing TD later in the quarter. Pederson is being right lauded for it.

Brady was wide open, unexposed, and would have had a sure-fire first down in the red-zone. He alligator armed it. So B.B. sucks.

Also, calling player A the lynchpin to it all while simultaneously referencing a play in which player A failed to do the same thing he's probably done 1000 times in his life and that kids and senior citizens are able to do: catch a ball when wide open.

The debate in NE is whether it’s more Brady or Bill that has caused the success. It’s Brady, the QB, not the trick play WR, who is the lynchpin to their dynasty. Bill taking the ball out of Brady’s hands AS GOAT QB, is a stupid coaching move. They were picking up chunk yardage left and right. Bill got too cute and he didn’t let his top guys “do their job”.

Odds of that play being successful go  up ten-fold if Brady just throws to Gronk, Amendola, or James White, etc.

Im thinking you didn’t entirely get my post.

I got your post. Disagree with it completely.

Outside of the drop, the fumble, and a few terrible throws in the first half, Brady played a hell of a game. 505 yards, 3 TDs, no ints. He led his offense to score on almost every possession. Yet, they lost. Pin it on Beli not playing Butler, or on the OL whiffing on the strip sack, or Jimmy G getting traded which caused Hoyer to bobble the hold on the first quarter FG....whatever.

The point is, no matter how amazing that HoF 2017 MVP played, they still lost last night - because this is the ultimate team game. It's not Brady vs. 53. One player who is only on the field for one of 3 phases of the game cannot have as much impact as someone who has his hands on every facet of the team- from roster building to approving and implementing game plans to in game decisions.

As you said, Brady was getting chunk plays...but it was in the middle of the field. They were struggling in the green and red zones. It was the second quarter and they were on their third possession, and they had only 3 points and were struggling to pick up 3rd down conversions. If Brady makes that relatively routine wide open catch, no one would say that Belichick shouldn't have taken the ball out of Brady's hands. Instead, we'd together be lamenting the fact that Belichick proved once again that he's a progressive, aggressive coach who constantly thinks outside the box to put all of his players in optimal situations to succeed.

that was a well designed play and caught the eagles completely off guard.  kyle brady could have caught that ball and wouldn't have fallen down. we'll probably never see billy or tommy play the game without the other one and it's kind of a moot point because they're both really close to hanging it up.

I don’t quite know what’s hard to understand: having the GOAT QB do anything other than play QB is stupid, and arrogant.

Higher % if Brady just throws to any receiving option, because he’s Brady.

Also, why risk having him get lit up as a ball carrier? Their OL holds all game to keep him from being hit, but this play could have gotten him crushed. He’s over 40 ffs.

The ape.

Blames Belichick for Brady dropping a wide open routine catch, because to the ape, football players - especially great ones whom he considers goats, are not supposed to be dynamic enough to both throw...AND...catch a ball.

Hides behind "the odds of success go up if he just left Brady throw it" while conveniently ignoring the fact that the odds of success were at 100% if Brady didn't butterfinger the ball.

Deliberately ignores the great irony of the fact that the exact same play call by Pederson is being lauded on the other side, because deep down he knows that Belichick would also be lauded if Brady didn't drop a routine fly ball on a fantastic playcall and great design.

...and then resorts to buttfumble and ignore. The surest sign that the ape knows he's gotten got.

because it's a team game and a game where big plays matter.  that was a low risk play. the ball was well thrown and brady was wide open.  and, it probably has a higher success rate than if a different play was called and brady was trying to hit amendola or whoever in the same spot. they make that play, they probably win the game.

Wrong. The minute you ask a 40+ year old QB to run a route, and anyone other than that GOAT QB to throw it youvibtroduce far more risk than if he’d just thrown it himself to any of his targets.

I seriously cannot believe how many Jets fans don’t understand that if you have a HOF QB, who plays great in the SB, you don’t have him do anything but play QB.

Their mantra is “do your job”, but they had Brady do the job of a WR. It shows Beli being arrogant and getting too cute.

I’d have said the same regardless of whether he caught it.

Looks to me that it's more than 1 person given your bewilderment above.

You are the 61k+ posts on an Internet forum JN embodiment of projecting a deep-rooted insecurity.
