The Yankees now have their very own Tim Tebow.

The Yankees acquired Russell Wilson, a quarterback who will never play in the major leagues, from the Rangers on Wednesday for future considerations. The 29-year-old Seahawks’ signal-caller is expected to make an appearance at the Yankees’ spring training campsometime later this month or in March, according to ESPN.com.

“While football is my passion and my livelihood, baseball remains a huge part of where I came from and who I am today,” Wilson said in a statement. “I’ve learned so much on the baseball field that translates to my game physically and mentally playing quarterback in the NFL. I thank the Rangers and their great fans for making me feel at home and a part of the family! While I embrace the chance to be a New York Yankee, I will forever be grateful to have been a part of a world class organization like the Texas Rangers.”

ESPN reports that Rangers GM Jon Daniels and Yankees counterpart Brian Cashman had been working to accommodate Wilson’s wish to be part of the Yankees organization. Wilson, a second baseman, spent two years in the Rockies system after being selected in the fourth round in 2010.

After that he went from college quarterback with NFL hopes to one of the best players in the league after being a third-round pick in the 2012 draft by the Seahawks.

Wilson still has dreams of a MLB career. Football so low on his list compared to Baseball. Always has been. For all we know he says GoodBye i na year or so to Concussions etc and gives Baseball a few years try. With his money he can be like Jordan and travel nice, stay in nice Minor league hotells etc and HOPE he get sto MLB before his playings days over. Money allows dreams to at least have a chance to happen.

Purely coincidental.  Not exactly an original thought either.

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think any Jet fan wants to copy Cimini's hating ass.

But I got burned a few days ago for posting a section of an article before editing in the link.?

by SAR.

The difference is you plagiarized and had no intention of putting in the link at all.  I had a coincidental sentence; you copy/pasted an entire essay.

I fully had those intentions. I had both windows open on my phone and was running back to the article to copy the link as you were condemning me lol.

And C’mon now SAR...you and Cimini’s sentence was word for word the same.?

Not that it’s even a big deal...I mean personally idc. Just funny how sh*t like that works is all.

Just for the record

Wilson couldn't hit in the low minors in the two seasons he played, '10 and '11. No reason to think he has any value as a baseball player at all.

2010: Northwest League 143PA: 230/336/377

2011: Sally League 236PA: 228/366/342

Wilson is terrible at baseball.  Terrific qb but he’s not a baseball player

Or perhaps he just wants a new contract

Except that's not how the internet works.

You opened both windows.  You copy and pasted the text.  Pretty basic.  Then you should have gone back and copied the link and pasted it right in.  Then you would have for the one-and-only-time hit the "submit reply" button.

You seem to think that you're successfully fooling us into thinking that JN has some magical "auto update" feature where as you and only you type things are posted in realtime.  LOL, no.  That's not how it works.  You hit "submit reply" and it put up your post.  When you were called out on your blatant plagiarism of 1,000 word essay you hit the "edit" button and pasted it in.  Enough already.  Thief.
