Edge Rusher- Chubb or Key

Qb- FA (Cousins,et. Al.,), Any of the current draft prospects

I was all hyped for this year's QB prospects, but with use picking at 6, we may need to reach for a QB. As I look at how our our team is structured an argument could be made that an above average edge Rusher could impact this team overall much more than any of the aformentioned qbs given a a good to above average year.

It sure was worth it winning those games in October.

That is when the extensions were signed.  Those wins saved MacBowles their jobs.  After they were extended the tank resumed.  The Johnsons were played like fiddles.

Yep.  Those meaningless wins cost the Jets a chance to be picking 3rd or better.  The same folks who were happy about those wins at the time are going to be the folks who bitch and moan the loudest when the Jets trade multiple picks to trade up to #3 to grab a QB.  Guaranteed.

I mean, sure, pass rushers and QBs are alright, but what if you could have three Deone Buccanon’s instead.

There was a run on Deone Buccanon's in 2014. So the next year they only started selling them in pairs. You can't buy 3. 2 or 4 only.

imo, don't think so.  the jets scored something like 17 ppg and it wasn't because they were throwing pick sixes or fumbling the ball away.  if the offense could score 22-23 ppg then maybe an edge rusher would be the right guy.

Just because there are a bunch of hyped QB prospects, does not mean they will be starting QBs.  Darnold and Rosen, sure.  Mayfield, possibly.

The rest, including Allen are developmental projects.  Why would you waste a top 6 pick on a QB that won’t be able to help your team any time soon?

Biggest impact on the team would absolutely be Cousins and Saquan Barkley.

We can add a Starting Center and Guard in this draft or Free Agency, and the offense will be a very good, grind it out, move the chains and clock eating offense that will make Bowles defense look better than it should.

Mac please do this...

Cut:  Wilkerson/Carpenter/Skrine/Ijalana

Resign:  Davis/ASJ/Claiborne/Ealy

Sign:  Cousins/Allen Robinson/Ryan Jensen/Trumaine Johnson/Trey Burton/Shaquil Barrett

Draft:  1st Round: Quenton Nelson----2nd Round: Jaire Alexander/Sony Michel----3rd Round: Best ILB

Most definitely a pipe dream but in 2016 the Giants had $57 million and were able to sign Janoris Jenkins, Olivier Vernon, and Damon Harrison while resigning Pierre-Paul to a $10 million dollar deal.  I know 2 years later the costs are higher for players but I would do whatever it takes to overpay some of these young talented guys to get them here.

With those signings $75-80 million gets it done and that's slightly overpaying each leaving money to resign our own.  It's going to be a matter of getting these players to want to play here over San Francisco and Cleveland who both also have tons of cash to spend.

This is a best case scenario situation but if we miss on certain players there are respectable replacements we can look at to completely turn this thing around overnight.  I hope Mac has a plan and can sell these guys.
