Representing the Jets in a Mock on Facebook

Here is what I have done through 3 rounds:

6. Sam Darnold, QB, USC

37. Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA,

49. Sony Michel, RB, Georgia

72. Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas

Other than the Kolton Miller pick, I like the way this has fallen.  Price, Hernandez and Wynn all went between 31 & 36 and I just scrambled to find the best OL left on the board, but I could have taken an edge -- Oronkwo, Landry or Key were all available at that spot.

How am I doing?

That’s really beautiful work. You got the QB, OLT, C, and an offensive weapon. If you can pull in a CB and an edge rusher who can play a little bit, it’ll be a home run.

I got a feeling Key is going to kill SPARQ scoring making him a hard player to pass at 37th overall.  I know he has some off field issues and character concerns but this was a guy being talked about this time last year as a top 10 pick.

So, my only knock would be passing on a pass rusher for an average LT prospect.

The rest?  ******* love it.

Who are you referencing here?

Key is 6'6 265.  It's kind of the ideal edge rusher size.

yes, I made a sweeping generalization. Once and a while I enjoy being ignorant.... I actually didn't know he was 265. Not sure i believe that. Guess we'll see what he weighs in at.

I agree.  I got stuck in the "gotta get an OL at 2" mentality.  Then when the 3 guys I wanted all went just before my turn on the clock, I just looked at OL and took Miller.  If I had it to do over again I would probably have gone Key.

Didn’t Key just, like, disappear from the program for a month and no one ever explained why??

Nobody ever gave the exact reason why but his dad did make some comments that basically they were having family problems and Arden was overwhelmed with being a student athlete and trying to balance off the field issues they/he were facing.

Kind of reminds of Malik Hooker last year...reports of him trying to quit but his parents and Urban talked sense into him.

Really great job, I'd be thrilled with this draft. Nit picking you I would prefer to sign a veteran free agent center to help mentor our rookie QB and use 72 on the BPA of the CB's left on the board.

Thanks.  That is the problem with doing a mock this early, before FA.  I was doing it based on the current roster -- and we have no centers under contract -- Johnson and Harrison are both UFA.  Figured I had to get a potential starting C and didn't think I could wait another round.
