The defense is at least average, the offense is a steaming pile of dogsh*t and the only QB’s presently under contract are Petty and Hackenberg. NY Jets time of possession stats 29.51 per game, 16th in the league, most of the year it was much better until mccown got hurt. This 100% false narrative of the poor defense having is to hard because the O is 3 and out all the time i just that baloney. The offense goes 3 and out the defense allows ponderously long drives and cannot get off the field. All resources inducing coaching poured into the defense, nothing put into the offense and people STILL toss out lame excuses.

UntouchableCrew
I'm definitely one of those who whiffed on this one. I was all in on re-signing Wilkerson. Guy turned into a dog overnight -- exactly the reason the team had been reluctant to pay him for years. Guess they should have stuck with their instincts. Tinstar
It's ill-conceived to run a 34 defense with lousy outside line backers and expect to get a pass rush from DTs impersonating 43 defensive ends .

Most of the Jets resources this offseason should be spent on positions like QB, CB and improving the OL. Sperm Edwards
1 hour ago, Beerfish said: Mo only played hard at times for Rex which should have been a warning sign after he had his one great pre contrat year. I remember when it was laughed off as irrelevant, that nearly half of his sacks came when the Jets were already ahead or behind by 20 points, and that we needed so badly to lock up this guy on track for the HOF. Best was when it was leaked that the tardiness and other stuff didn't even suddenly begin with the new contract. As in, they knew internally (even if the fans didn't), and simply expected this to get better just by telling him they now expect him to be more of a leader, followed by the player saying, "OK, sure." Sign AJ McCarron and then trade down and take Taven Bryan, whose stock had been steadily rising after a strong combine. I thought he was exactly the kind of guy you want to keep. 12 sacks in 2015 to go along with 3 forced fumbles, 7 passes defensed, consistent pressure on the QB and solid in the run game - as much production as you could expect from a 3-4 DE not named JJ Watt. I thought he earned his payday and was thrilled to hear that we locked him up long term. I never imagined that we would release him two years into the deal -- and that I would be happy about it. He was benched and "emasculated" after they decided they were going to release him after the season, so he wouldn't get injured those last games and thereby kick in an additional $16m guarantee for the 2018 season.
