Would love to have that combo on the outside chance he turns into something. If not, move on to the rookie.  But like you said I’m sure he wants a clear cut situation and be the guy and I’m sure for a good chunk of money.

Yes but he has a lot going against him as well. He's largely unproven, and there are a few proven options available like Cousins, Keenum, and (possibly) Foles. Add in the fact that there are several intriguing QBs in this year's draft, and his price may not be as high as you think.

He may even take a one year "prove it" kind of deal. I would prefer Cousins, but I wouldn't be opposed to signing Mccarron on the cheap and taking a QB in the draft.

I would actually love it . The Jets would have an opportunity at either the top RB, the top edge rusher or the top offensive tackle in the draft and still have the opportunity to get a solid QB prospect in the 2nd round .

Sign Cousins, take Barkley it Chubb, whichever of the two falls to them, and take Lauletta or Falk later on in the draft.

I don't mind you following me around with that but at least use it at appropriate times.  This one felt forced.

IMO this was the most appropriate time I've ever used it.

Got it right in my opinion. I absolutely love Lauletta.

To be honest, I haven't seen much of him. I just know there's a lot of buzz around him right now.

I've seen Falk play. I actually like him a lot.

Yea I'm not disagreeing with that though. I think he is using the Jets to make the Vikings/Broncos offer better, that is raising his price. I would hope we could hit a threshold that those teams wouldn't go over but that doesn't mean Kirk will take a 5 year deal with us over a 3 year deal with the Vikings. It really depends, one situation is not necessarily better than the other.

I'm not saying this is the case, but it may very well be the opposite. He could be using the Vikings to drive up our offer. After all, we have the most money to spend.

Yeah, and some are only happy if they land Rosen and some are only happy if they land Darnold.

The ones who only want Darnold are on drugs.

The ones who only want Darnold say the same thing about those that only want Rosen or Allen or Mayfield.

The ones who want Darnold and no one else are blinded to reality. He's Mark Sanchez all over again.

None of these Cousins to Vikings rumors are true unless there was some significant illegal tampering going on.

Interest? Ok.... Signed, sealed, delivered with contract details? Nah bro.

The Kirk sweepstakes is a lot more open than Twitter is leading on

I think a lot of these rumors are coming from Cousins' agent to drive up the price. I don't think it's done deal by any means.

I'm pretty sure Cousins will be a Jet - not happy about it, but it's happenning.

That's my gut feeling too.

There's no way we draft a QB this year if they sign Cousins - zero chance.

It does, although, allow you the time to prepare for the transition in 5 years - I just don't want to wallow in mediocrity for a half-decade before trying to find a true franchise QB.

It seems to be plan though and I'll be 100% behind it once it's done.

I could see them taking a QB later in the draft. A project QB.

Hang on...the Jets would really give McCarron a Glennon-sized contract and still draft a QB at 6?

Why not? The Bears did it, and it seems to have worked.

That said, I'd rather roll the dice on Bridgewater than sign McCarron.

Jets receive: #2 pick and Olivier Vernon’s 3/$60 mil contract

Giants receive: #6, #49, 2019 second rounder, opening up massive amounts of cap space for Beckham, etc, while staying in position to draft OL, CB, DE, whatever.

Gold, Jerry.

That would be a coup for us.

The Jets make out if Rosen or whomever they pick is good, but remember the Giants are only making that deal if they don’t think Rosen or whomever are worth the #2 anyway.

I think the Giants want Barkley. Then they can take Falk or Lauletta later on.

It makes a lot of sense for them actually. They make one last attempt to go on a run with Eli before he retires. Meanwhile Davis Webb and a second young QB develop in the background with no pressure to play right away.

This doesn't mean much. The one thing this group has actually done right is keep the building buttoned up in terms of leaks.

This is true. Even in 2015 when they signed a bunch of players, they were extremely quiet during the tampering period.

As much as I know everyone wants us to have him I’m not going to disrespect the QBs currently on the roster and make them feel less competent. If he wants to come we’ll show him why the team didn’t go 0-16 like everyone thought we’d be last year.

Classy move.

They are likely waiting to make all announcements on Wednesday as to not be accused of tampering...  It is peculiar that no "agreements" have been leaked.

They can communicate and even agree to terms, but they aren't allowed to make any announcements until the new league year begins.

Then how do you explain all of these deals that players have agreed to that’s being announced.  As I understand it deals can be agreed upon and announced right now, but they can’t be signed and won’t be official until the new league begins on Wednesday

Announcing trades and teams re-signing their own free agents is permitted.

If you sign Bridgewater it's all about health not talent. We know he can play and be a starting NFL Qb. It should be inexpensive plus you draft a Qb at overall 6. But there are other options including McCown. Both would be for one year deals. The expectation being the drafted Qb is your starter in 2019. Unless Teddy is healthy and can beat him out.

McCown is a waste of time. At least Bridgewater and McCarron are young with some upside.

Lamar Jackson , COME ON DOWN.

You've won the Geno Smith Award by going to NYC where you will be BBQ'ed by Media for not being a AllPro which isnt your fault. Its Jets fault for not trading up. (sooner)

If Mac doesn't trade up for Rosen, then Lamar has to be the pick at #6.

I’m finding myself OK with Bridgewater. Wanted him coming out of the draft .. just don’t want him starting.

Go up and get a QB.

Move up for Rosen, or stay put for Lamar Jackson.

As for Bridgewater, it'll make for a great story if he manages to play and play well.
