For Josh Allen haters, how do you feel about Lamar compared to Allen?

I hate Allen and Jackson but I think I’d actually be okay with Allen before Jackson.

You’re going to give a QB who will be 30 years old before he takes his first snap, whose best season resulted in a 9-7 record, and you’re going to put him on a really, really bad Jets team, and you’re going to pay him $110 million dollars in cash for three years? This is advisable to you?

Cousins has been a starting QB for three years, it won’t be his first snap. He’s also been an excellent starter both in aggregate and with two back to back top 7s. I don’t evaluate individual players with team W-L record going back almost 20 years don’t plan to start with this sport. Yes to the last two.

Here and now becsuse of some mental gymnastics, sure, this place is all in on the misery porn and I get that. Otherwise of course it matters, the money that can be offered is finite for every team but the Jets have more than everyone else to offer. The Vikings go to  $33, Jets can go to $36 without breaking a sweat, there’s still another $60 million in their back pocket.

Yea I'm not disagreeing with that though. I think he is using the Jets to make the Vikings/Broncos offer better, that is raising his price. I would hope we could hit a threshold that those teams wouldn't go over but that doesn't mean Kirk will take a 5 year deal with us over a 3 year deal with the Vikings. It really depends, one situation is not necessarily better than the other.

Honestly I'd have no problem offering 5 years $150M fully guaranteed, assuming the deal is front loaded. You'd want to keep him for the lower cap hit years late in the deal anyway.

I'm not saying this is the case, but it may very well be the opposite. He could be using the Vikings to drive up our offer. After all, we have the most money to spend.

The Vikings have a one year window with two league star pass rushers hitting FA next year, including a true elite in Barr. I don’t get why so many of you guys try to brush their roster’s proximity to FA as a non-factor whentheir whole sell is current talent.

Right? Wouldnt that make more sense in a “he’s driving up the price” narrative?

Yep, about the level of response I expected.

I’m all for hedging and still drafting a QB, pretty sure I’ve said as much for months. But yeah, saying his name a million times incredulously does nothing. He’s an excellent passer, this shouldn’t even be news and most likely isn’t.

How else should one respond to “yes we should pay Kirk Cousins an infinite amount of money because we have more money this year”?

Infinite? Disingenous nonsense doesn’t work on me, Shane! We both know the Bills ain’t doing sh*t, Cousins is good enough to startfor a SB contender, and your feigned worry about salary is to rouse fear among the hens.

Ah. If only there was a Super Bowl contender with an opening at quarterback who was willing to pay him gratuitously over his value. Perhaps one who was recently one game away from this Super Bowl competition that you speak of.

Why would they want him, Shane? He’s Kirk Cousins! Which is it lol? You guys cant even keep up with your own nonsense narratives.

If only there was a team entirely out of contention who would pay Kirk Cousins gratuitously over his value and then tack on an additional twenty million dollars, but only to appease the union hawks?

Once again...good QB’s get paid an assload of money. I’m not sure why so many are struggling with this concept. Doesn’t matter if they aren’t Brady or Rodgers.

San Fran just gave Garoppolo a $140 million deal after 7 career starts.

34 year old, gamemanager supreme Alex Smith is essentially making $25 million a year.

If you guys think the numbers being thrown around for Cousins are batsh*t crazy, just wait till you see what lesser QB’s like Winston and Mariota get within the next year.

No, no it would still be to land a franchise passer with his level of skill.

Why would the Jets have that bolded motivation but not Cousins - obligated to discount Minnesota for their final fifteen minutes of relevance before they start losing big talent to FA?

Why would the Jets pay that contract when they don’t have any big talent and a three year window?

I thought you took a laissez faire approach to salary cap. Why sweat it? Cap economics mean nothing

I can’t believe the Hackenberg Camp is Pro-Cousins now. Seems like a contradiction.

Never said that. Again, why are you even worried about what anyone spends? Or, was that a ruse statement?

It’s the QB position, the one position that has actually held them back for nearly 50 years. You’d be amazed at what QBs do for perception.

sh*t, look at how amazing you think the Vikings are with two upcoming 2018-2019 FA  pass rushers, a TE, and safety as their marquee talents. All they had to do was make one consecutive playoff and you’re riding them like this.

Yes that is all that separates the Jets and the Vikings.

Wait, so what a GM spends in free agency has no implications on the cap? Please explain.

Pretty much yeah. Well that and many millions of dollars in flexibility the next 2-3 years, plus more and more top draft picks this year.
