Why would Cousins' PR team tag the Jets at all when Minnesota seems to have this deal locked up?

According to chicken sh*t jets fans (you know who you are) Cousins signed with Minnesota 2 weeks ago...

Because we suck and should pay a premium.

It is half that, and half that we s#$k and have no previous good draft picks to spend money on, so we have plenty of money that actually has to be spent, so we can actually pay Cousins and only make the team better (because he is not preventing us to signing other players or retaining the players we have).

If that makes sense.

The agent's first test balloon was 3 years $91 million.  The feedback on that must have been negative so he went with the Vikings are prepared to go to $27 mil per where he seems to have found the market.

He's using the Vikings to get the Jets to pony up.

Brees will turn any team not named Browns into a SB contender.

A playoff contender you mean.  Because no, it won;t make this Jets roster into a Super Bowl contender without material major upgrade in a whole slew of places/positions.

P.S. today the Browns roster is better than ours, just say'in.

With nearly 60+ mil to use after hypothetically signing him this year, we can very easily fix 4-5 other weak spots. Then you have another 3 picks in the top 50.

How much were you planning on paying this 40 year old QB and for how many years?

We won 5 with McCown. We can win 12 with Brees, 60 mil and 3 first day draft picks.

Nothing like optimism I guess.

Do you think Drew Brees wants to come to NY?

The Jets can pay him that, plus give him the money they saved from cutting Mo and replacing him with Mike Pennel.

Voila.

Cameron Brate just signed a 6 year $41 million deal with $18 guaranteed.

He isnt even the Bucs top TE since they drafted OJ Howard last year and he had 48 catches for 591 and 6 tds.

Not sure what planet we are on, but ASJ's agent just cracked a BIG smile

That is one way to look at it.  Brate has it all over ASJ.  He beat him out head to head and the numbers you posted are 200+ yards and 2 TDs better than ASJ's best.  That wasn't even Brate's best season.  Brate is better in every statistical category and he barely got more than ASJ is looking for, though he was an RFA.

the jets are pretending to bid for ASJ, so they can look like they kinda want to keep him but they really dont.
